Green Mac and Cheese Mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort meal for Mandi and me. We make it when it has been a rough day, or on a Sunday night to relax. It is very easy to make, super addicting when you eat it, and the best thing is there are always leftovers to bring in to work for lunch. Pretty basil flower. We are using the tops of broccoli in this meal, but don't toss out that beautiful stalk! This is some sausage I had in the freezer. A food processor would be better, but I was able to blend this up well after a few times of shutting it off and pressing everything down. Everything ready to go. Recently I had truffle mac and cheese as an appetizer at a restaurant and it was really tasty. Onions, Broc-stalk, salt, pepper, cayenne. After 10 minutes when the onions have sweated down, look to the bottom of the pan to see if there is any oil left that has not absorbed into the veggies. Meanwhile, Mandi made some breadcrumbs. We like to try different pastas when making mac and cheese. YUM cheesesauce. so good!
Crock-pot BBQ Chicken Thighs We’re on the final countdown to Thanksgiving, folks. Is that crazy, or is that crazy? All I know is that I’m glad I’m not hosting the meal this year. The holiday has snuck up on me and I’ve hardly given the big day much thought. Thanks for all your hard work, Mom. This recipe has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but it’s easy and quick and would be a perfect meal when you’ve got a house full of hungry guests lingering around post-Turkey day. I’ve made this recipe every Sunday for the past month or two. So part of our weekend routine is to cook up five days worth of a chicken + carb meal and a beef + carb meal, on Sunday night. Insert: Crock-pot BBQ Chicken Thighs I use chicken thighs for this recipe because 1) Big Fisch prefers dark meat and 2) chicken thighs are cheaper. You will need: Chicken thighs, mustard, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, BBQ sauce, salt and pepper. Now lean in and listen up. It really is that simple. It’s so easy I could do it in my sleep! Happy Monday friends!
General Tso’s Chicken, Two Recipes This recipe for General Tso's chicken has been the most popular on this site since I first posted it in 2009. Month after month it continues to be the most viewed and searched for recipe here. I love that so many of you, presumably, have visited on a mission to replicate this tasty dish from a favorite take-out. Over the past few months, I've been testing and retesting this recipe for my cookbook, and want to share a new revised version. I've loved all your feedback and incorporated some changes that'll make this General Tso's even better. The sauce, for example, has a couple of new ingredients to round out the tomato base. The biggest improvement is in the frying process. (Update: If you've enjoyed this General Tso's Chicken recipe, check out many more Chinese restaurant favorites in my new cookbook The Chinese Takeout Cookbook: Quick and Easy Dishes to Prepare at Home.) Almost nobody in Hunan has ever heard of General Tso's Chicken, the most famous Hunan dish in America.

Brickle A few weeks ago, I went to a barbeque. On the table there was plate of what looked to be a chocolate type dish that was crumbled up. I grabbed a piece, ate it, had eight more pieces, and then went on a mad hunt throughout the barbeque to see who brought the stuff and how much I would have to pay them for the recipe. After not too much work I tracked it down, and trust me. You want to make this. What’s fantastic about this stuff is many things. Directions 1) Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. 2) Then layer in crackers. 3) Melt the butter in a saucepan and then stir in the brown sugar. 4) Once it has simmered for a few minutes, pour it straight on the crackers. 5) Next, stick your baking sheet in the oven at 325 degrees for 5-10 minutes. 6) When you take it out of the oven, pour the chocolate chips on the tray right away. 7) Meanwhile, crumble up some heath bars. 8) After 5 minutes, use a spatula to spread out the chocolate and make the chips flat. 11) Then just bust the stuff up! Ok. Um.

Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwich April is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich month and that was all the excuse that I needed to try out some new grilled cheese sandwich recipes! Not too long ago, while I was devouring a batch of the ever so addictive jalapeno popper dip, I was thinking about other ways to enjoy that amazing flavour combination and the idea that stuck was the one for a jalapeno popper grilled cheese sandwich. As soon as I had that thought I knew that I would have to try it and this was the perfect time! The basic idea was to incorporate the flavours and textures of jalapeno poppers in a grilled cheese sandwich and the first step was the jalapeno peppers themselves. I really could not see biting into a perfectly grilled sandwich with all of the melted gooey cheese and hitting hard raw jalapeno peppers and although pickled jalapeno peppers would likely have done the trick I decided to take the extra step and I roasted the peppers first. Don't have time to roast some fresh jalapenos? Printable Recipe
Healthy Yogurt Dijon Mustard Chicken Recipe! : Family, Home & Health • Diamond Jewelry Forum - Compare Diamond Prices, Discussions & Diamond Information I wanted to post this for the other gals who are looking for fast fun recipes for weeknight fare...and healthy too. I have an obsession with this local Persian restaurant''s chicken kebabs, they use yogurt and mustard and chicken breast and it''s sooooo divine. So I was looking for a recipe we could make at home which would be kind of similar and maybe give me some insight into the greatness behind the Persian recipe. I found this one and we tried it last nite. It took me ~5 minutes to prep it, 3-4 hours to marinate it in the fridge and 10 minutes to grill it. One important note, how I modified the recipe. The best part was I had ~2 servings with veggies and it was only like 360 calories for the chicken, woo hoo! Grilled Chicken Marinated in Yogurt-Mustard Sauce(makes 4 servings) Light a grill. Transfer the remaining marinade to a serving bowl and pass separately to spoon over the vegetables and chicken. Diabetic exchanges: 4 very lean protein
