MacGyver, Survivalist, or Stockpiler: The Urban Survival Skills Everyone Should Know It's your word against his.. If he ain't talkin, your word pretty much wins. Also, don't try draggin him back in your house after he's dead.. The cops will be able to tell he was shot inside your house. As soon as you're involved in a shooting like this, call the cops, then a lawyer.. You are so bad ass. Seriously, you're advocating shooting a potential burglar with your "Mossy, Remy or Mr. We're not all in middle school, you know, and life is not like a Die Hard movie. I don't want to kill anyone. I am not running from my house. You can be a moral coward and subject yourself to the will of a criminal, however I will suffer no such victimization. @jodark It's not cowardly to leave and certainly not morally cowardly to leave if there is an intruder in your house. Unless you were a soldier or a police officer, you have probably not faced a life or death situation, and frankly, you are likely not equipped to fight back adequately.
Transform an Old Refrigerator Into a Food Dehydrator What Big Survival Knives Are For And How To Use One Ironically this guy actually was a Commando, in the Australian SAS. C'mon, Matrix, let's party! I thought he was awesome in The Road Warrior. I expect to see an army of men like him in assless chaps (yes, I know chaps are usually assless so the wording is redundant) rolling down the street within 5 minutes of the apocalypse. God, I totally didn't realize that was the same guy. Damn, I'm an idiot. And I think "assless chaps" is totally legit, since while the chaps themselves don't have an ass, people usually wear pants underneath.
How to Pack an Emergency Kit Like a Spy Plane Pilot New Sensor Could Make Night Vision Contact Lenses A Reality Very cool. That picture, though. Survival Podcast The Top Ten Tactical Skill-Sets for the Common Man Yesterday my good friend Jack from The Survival Podcast asked me if I’d like to come on his show to discuss the Top Ten Tactical Skill-Sets for the Common Man. I jumped at the chance and the show we recorded yesterday is now live! The Bug Out Bag Most of our go bags only borrow the name, featuring the things we like to carry on a regular basis. Reader Scott Kelley takes his gear a little more seriously and has a "bug out bag" system that's versatile and geared towards survival. Scott posted a ton of detail on his Kinja blog, so rather than summarizing it and missing out on much of the good stuff, we're republishing the whole post here. If you have a great go bag with a useful organization scheme and great features, let us know! 81Reply Discuss
Are solid bike tubes better then air inflated ones? What are the pro's and con's of each? Solid: Pros- they don't flat out Cons- They are extremely heavy, and being so heavy it increases your centripetal resistance, which will SEVERELY decrease your acceleration. -They are nearly impossible, once mounted, to remove and re-use. Most shops have to cut them out with a hacksaw which means oyu have to replace the tire too -They will cause your rim to go out-of-true faster -They will bend your rims over time -They are make the bike alot harder to do tricks with (depending on how you ride your bike) Pneumatic (inflated): Pros- Lighter, easily replaceable, lighter, typically repairable, lighter, cheaper, and lighter Cons- They can pop, yes, but appropriately prepared can be fixed in little time for under $5 Solid tires are a good, nay a GREAT idea in theory, but in practice they just don't improve what logic would lead you to believe they will.
How To Build A Survival Cache Editor’s note: Survival caches are the ultimate back-up plan. If you are going for your survival cache, that means Plan A and Plan B went awry. In this case, you may be left with no other option but to survive with only the contents in your cache. Given the seriousness of this preparedness issue, many preppers see the value in having multiple caches spread out geographically to fall back on in order to lessen the risk of losing everything. Keep these key points in mind when you begin to create your survival cache: 1) How it’s built: two ways because I have several different caches. 2) How it’s stored: dependent on location. 3) How close to home? 4) Finding it: The two stored at friend’s houses are easy. 5) What’s in it: each one contains a complete set of what I deem necessary to serve basic needs of shelter, food, water, first-aid and self defense. 6) Food and water: Since it’s ludicrous to store water, I have a water filtration system and a “water bottle” in each cache. This is how Batman would look in real life I think he'd look more like this: SExpand In real life, a group of thugs would have just shot and killed him in the first week he was Batman. Vehement agreement. I heard a theory once (I think it was in an interview with Grant Morrison), that in circumstances like the death of the Waynes, the criminals don't tend to leave witnesses. The key in real life is that the "but he's Batman" argument means absolute crap. That did happen in the 89' Batman, but clearly he survived. I like to think a real billionaire who decides to go out and fight crime would have more sense than to wear skintight nylon, a cape, and a cowl that could easily slip, obscuring his (or her) eyes. That's not real life. In real life, a billionaire that decides to be a vigilante in a bat costume would be institutionalized. And in real life, we're a bunch of cynical killjoys, who can't just enjoy things, but have to suck the life out of it at every given chance... It's the truth! If by "thugs" you mean cops, then yes probably.
