Mastering Tasker - 1: Getting Started - Android Features - News + Articles Welcome to our new feature, 'Mastering Tasker'. In this series of articles, we'll take you through getting the most out of the powerful, versatile but also scary-to-newcomers Tasker application. Today, part 1 - Getting Started. Let's start with a simple description of what Tasker is, so you can decide if it'll be useful to you. Tasker is a £3.99 application, installed from the Google Play Store, which uses 'Contexts', grouped into 'Profiles' to trigger 'Actions', grouped into 'Tasks'. Contexts can take a multitude of forms - we'll come to them in more detail later - but examples are a time Context (e.g. between the hours of midnight and 7am), a date Context (self explanatory), a location Context (e.g. when you are within 100m of home), a WiFi Context (when you are connected to a particular network), a sensor Context (when device is being held sideways) and so on. The uses for Tasker are generally only limited by your imagination... What today's article covers Installing the application

Free HTML Editors, Web Page Builders, Web Editors and Web Site Builders Are you looking for a web editor to create or design a website? This page lists free HTML editors, Web editors, WYSIWYG (ie, "What You See Is What You Get") editors, web site builders, as well as specialized editors optimized for Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or even the numerous web scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, Java, JavaScript, ASP, etc. The editors are separated into two sections: the WYSIWYG Web Editors / Site Builders allow you to design your website using a What You See Is What You Get interface — somewhat like a wordprocessor where you can see what your page will look like (mostly) as you type; and Site Builders that allow you to design your site from pre-packaged templates. If you don't know what HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or Perl are, this may be what you're looking for, since the software will give you a visual interface that you can use to develop your site. SSDs Have Bleak Future, Says Researchers SSD performance will only get worse as NAND flash circuity gets smaller. SSDs are seemingly doomed. Why? Because as circuitry of NAND flash-based SSDs shrinks, densities increase. But that also means issues relating to read and write latency and data errors will increase as well. "This makes the future of SSDs cloudy," states Laura Grupp, a graduate student at the University of California, San Diego. To prove this theory, Grupp teamed up with Steven Swanson, director of UCSD's Non-Volatile Systems Laboratory, and John Davis of Microsoft Research. The group discovered that write speed for pages in a flash block suffered "dramatic and predictable variations" in latency. With the testing information at hand, the group fast-forwarded to the year 2024 when NAND flash circuitry is expected to be only 6.5-nm in size. "It's not going to be viable to go past 6.5-nm," Grupp said. "2024 is the end. To read the full report, head here.

How to Use Tasker to Automate Your Android Phone Tasker for Android allows you to automate almost anything you can think of on your phone. It’s even popular on Android in spite of only having a paid version, which shows just how powerful it is. We’ve covered using Tasker in the past, but its interface has changed over the years. We’ll walk you through the process of getting started with this complex application. Contexts, Tasks, and Profiles To use Tasker, you’ll need to know its jargon. For example, let’s say you wanted to automatically enable silent mode at 10 p.m. every day. You can also specify different tasks that occur when your phone enters a context and exits a context. These are just examples, and contexts can be much more than just times. Creating Your First Profile As an example, let’s create a simple profile that opens a music player app when you plug in headphones. First, tap the + button on Tasker’s Profiles tab. After you select your context, you’ll be able to customize it more. You’ve now set up a context.

[TASKER][TUT] Direct Call Feature (like SGS3) [TASKER][TUT] Direct Call Feature (like SGS3) As far as I know, it has not been possible to use the direct call / pick up to call feature from the SGS3 on the SGS2, yet. And while it is not THE most desirable feature, I decided to try and create a Tasker profile that does the same thing. As I don't use SMS ever, I set it up for WhatsApp, but the information here is free to be picked up and changed to whatever you like, as long as you post it back. If you are messaging a contact and suddenly decide to call said contact, you should just pick up the phone and hold it to your ear and the contact will be called. - Tasker - WhatsApp - Any Android Phone with G-Sensor and Accelerometer 1. 1.1 Set Tasker as an Accessibility Service. 2. 2.1 Open Tasker and click the + at the bottom to create a new profile. 2.2 Name it anything you like. 3. 4. 4.1 Click your "Call Whatsapp" profile 4.2 Long press the left box "Gesture Pick Up". 5.
