Det är helt klart en onödigt våldsam bok med nästintill bara manliga karaktärer och faktiskt inte direkt välskriven. Fortfarande är Ondskan en av de vanligaste böckerna dagens högstadieelever får läsa. En modern klassiker förvisso, men visst finns det bättre alternativ. Om det är internatskolan och maktkamperna du är ute efter rekommenderar jag Den ökända historien om Frankie Landau-Banks av E. Om det istället är så att porträttet av en komplicerad och lite våldsam kille som du vill åt rekommenderar jag istället Jack av Christina Lindström. Vänskapen mellan Erik och Pierre är kanske det som var viktigast under läsningen av Ondskan. Vill du fokusera på idrott kan Björnstad av Fredrik Backman vara ett bra alternativ.
