Beginner Ribbed Crochet Hat Pattern (Men's / Unisex) I grew up with this crochet hat on my head most winters (and it usually had one of those big pom-pom balls dangling at the top). My mother made them for us when we were kids and now crochets them for donation to needy families in her community. Since our weather recently turned cold and rainy, I’m now digging out my yarn stash to begin crocheting. This particular yarn went on clearance last fall around the holidays, so I stocked up in order to make hats for the homeless this winter. One hat done and a huge bag full of yarn to go! The crochet hat pattern is simple and perfect for a beginner crocheter. The result is a warm hat that is dense due to the single crochet, yet stretchy and comfortable to wear. Ribbed Crochet Hat Pattern – Men’s / Unisex 4 ounces yarn (medium worsted weight yarn ) H (5mm) crochet hook Row 1: chain 45 Row 2: SC (single crochet) in the back loop of each chain for the next 40 chains until only 5 chains remain. Invisible Finish Off Crochet I HATE when you can see where a finished piece was ended. Almost as much as I hate seams (you can find my seamless crochet methods here). This is my method for finishing a piece of work, especially useful in hats, so that you can not easily tell where the last stitch was completed and secured. Hope you enjoy. Complete the last stitch in pattern. Cut tail approx 6″ long and pull up on hook so that tail is free Thread tail onto embroidery needle. Then stitch into the top of the last stitch you completed. This is the finished result. Seamless Crochet Rounds Seamless Crochet Rounds Here at cre8tioncrochet.com we will be adding a new weekly feature. Every week we will post a new helpful hint or trick to help you along in your crocheting. This week will be how make hats (or any item made in the round) seamlessly and how to seamlessly change colors. There are three seamless crochet methods that I use. You can also check out my video for the magic circle/ring to start your crochet hats or rounds. 1- The first method is used for any work done in sc or hdc (though I prefer the other method for hdc) in one color. To change colors you would pick up the new color when there are two loops remaining on your hook from previous color. 2- The second method is best used when changing colors in any stitch or when working in hdc or dc. Picture Tutorial start with a magic circle or ring (you can watch my video on how to create a magic circle or ring here), with the stitches for the first round. stitch all the way around Have fun and always… Happy Hookin’
learning to write: crochet baby booties Hello my lovely blogging friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their day or night whichever part of the world you are right now. Today, I completed 4 more. So without further ADO! I have decided to name them... First, The sweet butterfly because of the shape of the buttons and my favorite colors that's what makes it sweet :-)! Then,The Tomato or can be Strawberry shoes! And one of my favorite, I named it The Tinkerbell booties because of the color. Lastly, my version of christmas booties. Ladies, I am working on the pattern for the elf/chili peppers shoes.
