7 Cover Letter Mistakes That Will Sink You. Cover letters don’t get a lot of love. And considering how tough it is to write a good one, it’s kind of understandable that people tend to throw them together at the last minute (or update one they wrote last month), attach it to their resume, and call it good. But this, my friends, is the biggest cover letter mistake you could make. In fact, this document is the best chance you have to give the hiring manager a glimpse of who you are, what you bring to the table, and why you—above all those other candidates—are the one for the job. Don’t give up your chance to share your best qualifications in a fresh, unique way. 1. How do you start a cover letter? Instead Start with a relevant qualification as a way to introduce yourself.

If your cover letter is basically your resume in paragraph form, you’re probably going to need to start over. 3. Consider what message you’re trying to get across. 4. 5. 6. 7. The Resume Section That Matters More Than You’d Think. What section headings do you have on your resume? Let me guess: “Experience,” “Education,” “Additional Information,” and maybe a “Summary” section. That about covers it, right? Well, if your resume doesn’t have a “Skills” section, you’re seriously missing out on an opportunity to showcase, you know, your skills. In fact, this is the most straightforward way for you to show to a hiring manager what you can accomplish in the position on day one.
The trick is, of course, figuring out what to actually include to illustrate what you bring to the table. Step 1: Review the Job Description The most obvious place to look for the skills that the hiring manager will find exciting and eye-catching is the job description itself. Mine the job description, find all the low-hanging fruit, and, of course, decide for yourself if you feel comfortable listing those skills on your resume. Beijing population growth: Academics blame pollution and overcrowding on poor urban planning. Photo by Juliana Jiménez This post originally appeared in Caixin. The Beijing city government has taken several steps lately to rein in its population growth, a problem authorities blame for foul air, worsening traffic, and other woes. However, academics said much of the government’s argument for the curbs is flawed, and some are also asking whether the latest moves will work considering previous attempts to slow population growth in the capital failed. The government of the capital said in July that it planned to move the bulk of its agencies from downtown areas to the less populated Tongzhou District in the east over the next several years, a move authorities hope will shift 1 million people out of crowded downtown areas. In a more controversial move, city authorities have in the past two years tightened requirements for children from migrant families to enroll in public schools.
This is an apparent effort to rein in the growth in the number of migrant workers in Beijing.
Nunca me he arrepentido. Sans titre.
