Nous avons réalisé ce road trip au mois d’août, la période la plus chargée au niveau touristique (notamment sur Skye).

J’avais vraiment peur de la pluie, puisque c’est la saison la plus pluvieuse, mais au final, passé les 2 premiers jours où nous été effectivement pas mal arrosé, nous avons été assez chanceux sur le reste du séjour. J’ai trouvé que c’était une bonne période pour visiter le pays car tout est bien vert et la lande en fleurs donne vraiment beaucoup de charme aux paysages. L’été est également la période la plus chaude même si je ne vous cache pas que je ne suis jamais sortie sans pull ni veste. Si vous voulez éviter la pluie, le printemps semble également être une bonne période, plus sèche et avec des températures qui remontent. La nature commence à éclore, c’est donc d’après moi un bon compromis ! Les fameux « midges » : doit-on en avoir peur ? 🙂 J’ai passé pas mal de temps à organiser ce séjour, car nous voulions faire un road trip, donc bouger (presque) tous les jours (l’expérience nous a appris qu’il faut essayer de prendre parfois un logement pour 2 nuits d’affilés, histoire de ne pas être constamment dans le speed). "Double expérience en 2 semaines" Nous avons eu la chance de dormir dans cet établissement 2x en l'espace de 2 semaines (notre itinéraire faisait une boucle). La première fois, nous avons eu une chambre familiale dans le bâtiment d'à côté, en entresol ; après une petite réticence, la chambre était très spacieuse, propre et de bonne qualité. Le service global était bon, mais sans plus (accueil basique), service minimum au restaurant. La deuxième fois, l'accueil était bien meilleur à la réception, et la chambre était magnifique ; cette fois dans le bâtiment principal, à l'étage, une chambre familiale grandiose avec vue sur la rivière ; de plus, la piscine est très agréable, plutôt grande.

Un seul petit bémol : je trouve que le restaurant n'est pas à la hauteur de l'établissement (surtout au niveau de la cuisine). "Ne mérite pas le titre de Palace" Très belle façade au bord du Ness et d'une rue calme. J'ai réservé cet hôtel car c'est un des rares d Inverness à avoir une piscine. Non !!!
