Blizzard hasn’t confirmed a specific release date yet, though it is expected to arrive sometime in 2022. The beta is expected in July or August, which means it’s time to get excited all over again for one of World of Warcraft’s most beloved expansions. It’s hard to believe that the original WotLK launched over 13 years ago, at the end of 2008—the expansion that essentially brought Arthas Menethil, as the Lich King, front and centre for the first time since Warcraft 3.
Like Burning Crusade Classic before it, WotLK Classic won’t be exactly the same as it was back then. Much of it will remain untouched, and the changes that are planned aren’t going to alter what made the expansion great.
