Cruz is Director and Founder of the Center for Engaged Foresight He is a professor of political science and public administration at Northwestern University and Northern Christian College in the Philippines. He served as a policy consultant to the chairman of the committees on environment, trade and industry, agriculture and appropriations of the Ilocos Norte provincial legislative board. He chaired several technical working groups in the formulation of key legislations such as environment code, investment incentives code, poverty reduction and public school teacher empowerment.
He served as executive secretary to a provincial governor focusing on the areas of environment, community affairs and agriculture from 2007-2009. Prior to joining the government, while in the academe he was active in non government work. He was was appointed as a Global Secretary for the Volunteers for Social Service Inc. based in India. Visiting Scholars - research - SEAS. The School of East Asian Studies can host a small number of Visiting Scholars (VS) and welcomes applications from candidates interested in being associated with the School.
Visiting Scholars make a valuable contribution to the research life of the Department, involving themselves in internal activities where possible, and contributing valuably to the external profile of our research and expertise. They benefit from the association with the Department and the University of Sheffield, having access to library and other research resources and the opportunity to interact and build profitable collaborations with staff and students. A VS is expected to have completed a PhD (or have equivalent experience) and be able to demonstrate a track record of excellent research and the potential to produce high-quality publications.
A VS can be appointed for up to one year. Their positions are not normally renewed after this time, except where a compelling case can be made for an ongoing association. About - EASP. EASP. APN Overview. The Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) is a network of 22 Member Country governments that promotes global change research in the region, increases developing country involvement in that research, and strengthens interactions between the science community and policy makers.
The APN defines “global change” as the set of natural and human-induced processes in the Earth’s physical, biological and social systems that, when aggregated, are significant at a global scale. The APN works to enable developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region to participate increasingly in regional cooperative research, and to benefit fully from such research. It strives to assure that the research results contribute to the development of science-based adaptation strategies, policy- and decision-making processes, and developing scientific capacity to address these important issues.
