Charles Reed Cagle was born and raised in Clarksville, Texas, in 1962. Mr. Reed Cagle has been married to his wife Donna for approximately 30 years. From 1999 until 2017, they lived in Colorado Springs with their son before returning to Plano, Texas in 2018. Charles Reed Cagle has worked in various aspects of the energy business for the past 35 years. Mr. Reed Cagle started his career as an associate with Kinlaw Oil Corporation in 1986. In 1996, he moved to Dallas, Texas, to assist launch a small independent energy firm. Mr. Cagle was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Heartland Energy, Inc., afterwards known as HEI, which he created in 1997. Following the example of joint venture partners, he engaged operators, drilling contractors, geophysicists, engineers, service firms, and a range of energy sector specialists. In 2006, Charles Reed Cagle started a drilling service company, funding and building a drilling rig capable of drilling to depths of 20,000 feet. In 2011, Charles Reed Cagle started working in the mining industry in the United States and South America. He purchased a gold mining concession in Oregon that produced 89,000 ounces of gold. Charles Reed Cagle worked in Copiapo, Chile, on the finance and day-to-day operation of a copper and gold processing plant. As a result of his mining activities, he created a patented process to remove and neutralize toxic chemicals from liquids while recovering precious metals. This technology is now being utilized in Copiapo, but it has the potential to be used in the mining sector across the world. After returning to Texas, Charles Reed Cagle began consulting a number of small independent oil companies, utilizing his years of experience to simplify operations and steer clients toward lower-risk horizontal possibilities in Colorado and Texas. In addition to his oil and gas businesses, he consults with a significant commercial landscaping company in East and Central Texas. Reed spends his free time fishing, hunting, cycling, and participating in other outdoor hobbies. He and his kid are on the golf course.
