The Associated Press reported on the 22nd (Korean time) that this year's Major League postseason dividend totals $107.8 million (approximately 139.17 billion won), up from last year's $107.5 million (approximately 139.17 billion won), which was first implemented after fall baseball was expanded to 12 teams. It was reported to be a slight increase from approximately 138.7825 billion won.
The team that received the most dividends was Texas, which reached the top of the World Series, receiving $506,263. This amount is less than the $516,347 (approximately 666.6 million won) dividend recorded by last year's World Series champion Houston Astros.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, the World Series runner-up team, recorded a dividend of $313,634 (about 406.31 million won).
Ryu Hyun-jin's former team, the Toronto Blue Jays, who were eliminated in the Wild Card Series, the first gateway to the postseason, pocketed $9,592 (about 12.43 million won).
