The Tampa Bay team announced on the 9th (Korean time), "We have signed an extension contract with Eric Niender, president of baseball operations, as well as coach Cash."
Although the specific terms and conditions of the contract were not disclosed, MLB.com, the official Major League Baseball website, predicted that "the two will accompany Tampa Bay until 2028, when Tampa Bay's new stadium is completed."
Coach Cash is the person who is leading the Tampa Bay team. Coach Cash, who took charge of Tampa Bay in 2015, recorded a total of 739 wins and 617 losses over nine seasons.
In particular, under Coach Cash's system, Tampa Bay succeeded in advancing to fall baseball for five consecutive years since 2019 among big market teams such as the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays (American League Eastern Division).
In particular, Tampa Bay took second place in the 2020 World Series, and in 2021, it won 100 wins (62 losses) in a season for the first time in the club's history, taking first place in the American League's Eastern Division.
Based on this, Coach Cash won the American League Manager of the Year Award in 2020 and 2021, and signed an extension contract.
