Sheila Chatyrbok RN BN CAE. Just Imagine... Imagine a world where everyone had a voice, where everyone could speak for themselves and not rely on someone for their every single need. I am a Registered Nurse that is passionate about advocating for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism. Welcome to my professional eportfolio. Enjoy and explore a little of who I am, where I come from, and what I stand for. Individuals with IDD and Autism is a particularly vulnerable population. Both children and adults are predisposed to a myriad of health conditions and comorbidities that vary in complexity requiring care and interventions that are specifically adapted to their needs. They typically face greater barriers to accessing appropriate healthcare and services.
I want to be the voice for those individuals that cannot speak for themselves. I currently work with St. If a child can't learn the way we teach maybe we should teach the way they learn. Caroline Mitchell RN/RMN BScN. I began my nursing career at the tender age of 18 when I found myself in England after a brief return to my birth place in Scotland. My family and I moved to Canada when I was 1 year old in search of a better life. After 16 years we returned to Scotland due to my mothers courageous battle with breast cancer. My mother passed away six months after our return. At 18 I had the opportunity to move to England where my cousin encouraged me to apply to a Health Care Aide position at the hospital she was a matron at in Warwickshire.
I never thought that this is where I would find myself living or working at any point in my young life. So in 1986 I started as a student nurse in rural England. I returned to Canada in 1997 with my 7 year old daughter and after several years working various low paying jobs whilst attending Mohawk College New Start Program I was able to resume my career as an RN at the Henderson hospital in Hamilton.
