The UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, sponsored by global fashion brand UNIQLO as title sponsor, will kick off on Tuesday with the Busan Open, followed by events in Daegu and Seoul.
Organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the International Wheelchair Tennis Tour is a global tournament with more than 170 events held annually in more than 40 countries. UNIQLO has been the title sponsor since 2014. This year, three tournaments will be held in Korea, starting with the Busan Open on April 26, followed by the Daegu Open on April 2 and the Seoul Open on April 3.
"In order to create a society where diversity is recognized and inclusion is respected, Uniqlo supports Para sports and athletes with disabilities," said a Uniqlo representative.
"We have been partnering with the International Tennis Federation for 10 years now, and we will continue to strive to promote the value and fun of Para sports around the world, so we hope that many people will take an interest in wheelchair tennis and support the athletes."
In Korea, UNIQLO will provide 600 DRY-EX T-shirts, UNIQLO's signature summer performance sportswear, to approximately 300 tournament staff and volunteers. In addition, Uniqlo Global Brand Ambassador and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic gold medalist Gordon Reed will be attending the Seoul Open from April 2 to April 6.
