One of the devices that has been most talked about lately within the MiJia environment of Xiaomi is undoubtedly the hygrometer Xiaomi MiJia LYWSDCGQ 01ZM, especially following the first information that according to some websites and especially, channels of chollos, named it as a thermostat.
This led to error to many users who impatient to have the latest product released by Xiaomi and carried for a low price, bought this curious meter that promised a lot and as we will see now, has some important nuances that in many cases do not meet.
That said, it's time to go deeper and find out what we can and can't do with this temperature and humidity meter.
The package that comes to us certainly disappointed me a little, accustomed to other types of packaging with a touch of much higher perceived quality, receiving a transparent plastic box is quite far from what Xiaomi has us accustomed.
Inside we get our hygrometer accompanied by a triple A battery that will come in luxury to put it into operation immediately upon arrival.
Attached to the body of the meter we will find a kind of support that we will be able to stick in the room where we are going to place our sensor, in addition to being magnetic, we will be able to put and to remove the hygrometer as many times as we want.
Obviously, it also includes instructions that as always come in a wonderful and wonderful Chinese.
The main body of the hygrometer has a diameter of 60.8 mm and a thickness of 22.5 mm, as for the screen, its size is 1.78 inches, so we could say that we are dealing with a medium sized device.
But what may interest us most about this type of product is its reliability, for that inside has a Sensirion sensor, whose accuracy is 0.1 degrees in measuring temperature and 0.1 percent in measuring humidity.
And at this point we have to talk about its connectivity, which in this case is in charge of a Bluetooth module with which we can link to our account in the Mi Home app.
As always, we will use the China server and preferably the English language if we want to avoid as much as possible the Chinese texts.
The information that the app will show us is very easy to understand, in the upper part we will have both temperature and current humidity and if we move the screen, we will find graphs with the history of the day, the week and the month.
These data are not downloadable, so we will always have to go to the app to view them and at least for now we have no way to see data beyond the last month.
And up to here it would be more or less everything we could do with this Xiaomi MiJia LYWSDCGQ/01ZM, because if we do not have one of the devices that make Bluetooth Gateway we will not be able to make intelligent scenes or see the data of the meter when we are out of our home.
If luckily we have one of the devices that make Bluetooth Gateway the range of possibilities opens up a little more.
It will not be necessary to make any extra action to link it to these gateways, simply show us the information in the one that is closer and therefore has better connectivity.
That way, we'll also be able to check the data when we're away from home.
And the best of all is that we will be able to carry out intelligent scenes linked to the measurement of humidity and temperature of our meter.
That's why unless you really like having a screen to view the data, my advice is that you opt for an Aqara temperature and humidity sensor because we will not need to have a Bluetooth Gateway and the functions are the same.
