Vic Neufeld
Vic Neufeld is a chartered accountant/certified public accountant and a native of Leamington, Ontario. Throughout his professional journey, he has been a part of some of the highly reputable companies in Canada and the United States. Most of the industries he has worked with were in alternative healthcare and the cannabis sector. Most people of his age are heading to retirement but Vic’s expertise is still needed in the industry. He currently runs a multi-billion dollar cannabis enterprise, a board of directors in various companies, and enjoy traveling the world. He credits his passion and energy for work with the lessons and experience he had growing up as a farm boy. His life growing up Victor or Vic as he is fondly called by his family and friends was the son of a peach farmer. It was in the 1960s when his father, George Neufeld came to Canada from Germany right after World War II. His dad sharecrops for a number of years until saved enough money for him to buy his own farm. Vic and his three brothers were asked to help on the farm. It was labor-intensive and Vic recalled it as the tough years of his life. His dad was a disciplinarian and made sure that Vic and his siblings do their share. The only day off was Sunday, which is spent with the family and the church. If there is one thing that Vic learned from his father growing up, it is learning the value of dollar and the significance of working hard to earn a living. The discipline and work ethic that his dad instilled in him has guided him through a number of careers and near catastrophes. Pastime and Hobby Vic Neufeld loves playing basketball, baseball, hockey, and golf. He was a star athlete in baseball and basketball at the UMEI Christian High School. Back in the days, life was plain and simple. There are no cell phones. All he does is take a marching order from his father. Every time he plays basketball and baseball, he would recall his childhood and it brings back a lot of good memories. Educational Background Vic Nefueld was not an A+ student in his elementary and high school days. He left the farm to pursue degrees from Western University and the University of Windsor. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics, Honours degree in business and an MBA too. After his MBA, Vic was hired as a lowly accountant student and eventually promoted to manager after receiving his chartered accountant designation in 1981. Personal Life He married Susan, a shy and timid girl. They had beautiful children. However, with the nature of Vic’s work, he sacrificed most of the family time. He had missed his kids’ hockey games and dance recitals. There are even instances when he missed family and friends’ funeral. He and his wife don’t have much time for each other. He was just fortunate as his wife is supportive of her and that his family understood that everything he did was to make their life better. The lessons and experiences he have in life has molded him to be a great man. He learned that money didn’t come on a silver plate. In fact, even up to this day, he bends down to pick up the change. His life experiences made his successful and humble; a characteristic of a true leader.
