Source…www.itln.in March 5, 2020: The global chargeable weight of air cargo in February 2020 fell – on a like-for-like basis – by nearly 9 percent versus 2019 as the industry suffered the dramatic consequences of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) on world trade.

Execution period of the policy shall be from January 23, 2020, to June 30, 2020. “To actively mitigate the impact of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic on the civil aviation industry, encourage continuous operation on international routes, guide the restoration of the already suspended international flights, and support air carriers in their fight against the epidemic, the central treasury will arrange funds to support both Chinese and foreign air carriers during the prevention and control period of the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia epidemic,” says the release.

The ACI World Airport Traffic Forecasts 2019–2040 predicts $12.4 billion revenue for the first quarter in the Asia-Pacific region in the “business as usual” scenario. According to ACI World estimates, Asia-Pacific is suffering the highest impact, with passenger traffic volumes down -24 percent for the first quarter of 2020, compared to forecasted traffic levels without COVID-19. Within the Asia-Pacific region, mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and the Republic of Korea remain at the centre of the effects with sizable losses in traffic volumes.

Lise is an incorrigible optimist. In retrospect, the prospect s of travelling around the world intrigued young Lise, quite naturally, into building a career in the industry.

She joined Air France and soon looked after passenger sales. Lise Marie Turpin gets The STAT Trade Times Lifetime Achievement Award for her remarkable contribution to the international air cargo industry. The spirit of challenge in her prompted her to look for new pastures which came in the form a job in sales and operations of Air France Cargo.
