Acaai2019. Dnata inks agreement to acquire Qantas' catering businesses. April 11, 2018: Global air services provider dnata has signed an agreement to acquire Qantas’ catering businesses.
The agreement is subject to approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Qantas’ catering businesses include wholly-owned subsidiaries Q Catering Limited and Snap Fresh Pty Limited. Q Catering has centres in four Australian ports – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, with its largest airline customer being Qantas. Snap Fresh is a state-of-the-art meal production plant in Queensland, specialising in Australian-made frozen meals for airlines and customers in the healthcare and food retail industries. Commenting on the agreement, dnata’s divisional senior vice president of catering Robin Padgett said, “This agreement reflects our confidence in Australia as a market and the ongoing growth potential into the future.” Cathay Pacific partners with Sonoco to enhance its pharma shipment services. The new ULDs will provide another active container solution to the Pharma LIFT portfolio of the air cargo carrier. The PharmaPort 360 utilises proprietary hybrid technology to provide extremely precise, long duration +5C temperature control for transporting high value cargo for the world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies. Once charged, the PharmaPort functions like an active temperature controlled container without the energy consumption, heat discharge or temperature variability of other compressor-based technologies. The PharmaPort’s hybrid technology allows it to operate on battery power substantially longer than competing active units used for bulk air shipments, and it also eliminates the need for refrigerated trucks for lengthy truck lanes. April 18, 2018: Etihad Cargo and DoKaSch Temperature Solutions-a provider of climate-controlled solutions for air cargo have signed a master agreement for Opticooler.
The master agreement will allow Etihad Cargo to expand its TempCheck cool chain service offering for temperature controlled pharmaceuticals, as its customers will be able to lease the Opticooler, the “flying warehouse”, from Etihad Cargo. The Opticooler, a German made, electric airconditioned container, can keep pharmaceuticals exactly within their temperature range, regardless of a tropical summer or arctic winter.

With this, Pathankot now gets operationalised as the 21st airport under UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) – RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme). The flight from Delhi to Pathankot will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing Delhi at 0955 hrs. and arriving at Pathankot at 1130 hrs. On its return from Pathankot, the flight will depart at 1150 hrs. and arrive at Delhi at 1335 hrs. Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Civil Aviation in the presence of other dignitaries inaugurated the maiden Alliance Air flight from Delhi Airport. April 10, 2018: Over the next 20 days, upto 300 of world’s best horses will transit through Liege Airport to attend the Longines Global Champions Tour 2018 (LGCT). The horses will be making use of the Horse Inn at the airport- a fully equipped, de-luxe horse motel facility offered by the airport. The LGCT is an annual international competition for top-level show jumping, which sees the 30 best riders in the world compete on the greatest competition courses.
The competition began at the end of March in Mexico, before moving on to Miami and then continuing in many different locations throughout the world, including Shanghai, Madrid and Paris. August 31, 2017: Travel services firm Bird Group has expressed interest in acquiring Air India’s profitmaking ground-handling subsidiary formally, aviation secretary RN Choubey stated while speaking on the sidelines of an Assocham conference.
While IndiGo is looking to acquire the state-run airline, the Bird Group’s interest is limited to the ground-handling business under Air India Air Transport Services Ltd (AIATSL). This comes as the government earlier decided to clear the disinvestment of debt-laden Air India and five of its subsidiaries after hopes of the airline’s revival turned bleak. The Bird Group had reportedly written a letter, expressing its interest, to the aviation ministry in July. AIATSL shares its revenue with parent company Air India.

Source….www.itln.in April 18, 2019: Jet Airways flew its last flight on Wednesday night—9W 2502 from Amritsar to Mumbai—after lenders declined to hand out emergency funds, bringing the curtains down on an era in which it broke into a state monopoly sector to become India’s largest private airline at one point.
“Late last night, Jet Airways was informed by the State Bank of India (SBI), on behalf of the consortium of Indian lenders, that they are unable to consider its request for critical interim funding,” Jet Airways said in a statement on Wednesday. “Since no emergency funding from the lenders or any other source is forthcoming, the airline will not be able to pay for fuel or other critical services to keep the operations going.” Given the current situation, the airline is left with no other choice but to go ahead with a temporary suspension of flight operations.
