The first announcement sent the bellydance world reeling. But I clarified that any of the new Modern steps had to fall into the Classic ATS format that we weren't taking steps from other styles and making them ATS and that Fusion is still Fusion. Would you be so kind to tell us more about your (planned) book? Please tell us something more about the contest to find new names for "ATS Old School" and "ATS New Style". I thought Old School and were good names, but a lot of people didn't like them, so I wanted people to get involved in the process of naming the new divisions of ATS. Has there been any or is there any resistance or any opposition against your ATS, or are you mostly fighting ignorance.
Do you mean in the beginning, 24 years ago? Carolena Nericcio. Danza Tribal-Historia. Masha Archer - Grupos y bailarinas danza tribal fusión.
ITS dance movement/AmySigil Improvisational Tribal Style (ITS) belly dance, or ITS, is a combination-based form of Improvisational Tribal Fusion dance.
It relies on a shared vocabulary of movements, each initiated by a distinct cue movement. The leader initiates the cue movement, then a short, choreographed combination, or Combo, is performed. These Combos can be done in any order, and none of the dancers know ahead of time what moves the leader will cue next.
Tribal Fusion. Rachel Brice 3 DSC 0115 History[edit] Tribal Fusion Dance is an offshoot of the American Tribal Style Belly Dance movement, which began in the early 90's by Carolena Nericcio, the director of Fat Chance Belly Dance.
The first Tribal Fusion dance company (although there was no name for it at the time, they simply called it Belly Dance Theatre) was Jill Parker's Ultra Gypsy. (June, 2010;[1] Stants, 2008;[2][3][4]) Jill Parker is often referred to as the "mama of Tribal Fusion". (June, 2010) [1] Ultra Gypsy expanded on the American Tribal Style repertoire of movement, costuming, and music. Stephanie Barto, a student of Nericcio, brought ATS to the Midwest with a group called Read My Hips, founded in Chicago with Heather Stants. Tribal Fusion was named and largely popularized by Rachel Brice, who was the first to fuse American Cabaret technique with American Tribal Style, and the first to perform as a soloist.
