Make sure your jar and apples are clean (duh), cut up apples (I use core and all, i save apple scraps too)... place in your clean jar....(enough apples to fill about half full)......pour water(distilled/filtered/spring) to cover apples...leave room at the top(about 3 inches)...

(you can add some ACV with the mother ( 1/2 cup) but not necessary).. cover jar with a cloth and secure with rubber bands... the jar needs to be able to breath, leave breathing room.... (you may add alittle honey (2 tbsp) but not necessary, speeds up the process)...wait about 2 weeks to check the vinegar...the longer you leave the apples in the liquid the stronger the vinegar will be...when I take out the apples I leave the mother in the liquid..the mother will form at the top and possibly the bottom of your jar (you can place this in a glass bowl carefully and add back to the strained liquid)..(you do not have to keep the mother, but I do)..(.the mothers keep forming in your jar even after the apples are removed ;) even if you initially take them out)...IT is VERY important that you secure the cloth because fruit flies will get in the jar if you do not (gross)...####.Store in a cool, dark place### Trim Healthy Mama Overview: Eating the THM Way - Savvy Homemaking.
