Lille Punkin': Macaroni Rainbow and Cloud Kids Craft. With the kids home for Spring Break, a lot of my friends are worried that they won't be able to keep them entertained for very long. As a homeschool mom, I never really stop having the kids home, so we have lots of craft odds and ends on hand to create last-minute crafts when they seem restless. Since we are anxiously awaiting spring, and we have kids of all ages and skill levels, I put together this easy macaroni rainbow craft. Depending on if you have each kid do their own -- or you have them do one together -- it can take anywhere from an hour to 4 hours.

To make it, you will need the following items (we purchase all of our craft items at our local Walmart): Large Elbow Macaroni NoodlesFoam or Paper PlateBag of Cotton BallsTwine or other Stiff ThreadPoster PaintsButtonsTape Start by painting your noodles. After the macaroni has dried completely, the kids can string them! Here, you can see the noodles all on the string, with the buttons holding them on at the end. PlayPhrase.

New Year's Centerpiece and Wishing Wand | One Artsy Mama. The New Year is almost here, friends! How are you celebrating? Are you decorating? Hosting?

Partying with the family? Here are two of the things we whipped up here in the Artsy House; I thought I’d share them for a bit of last minute inspiration! Both of these were made in less than 10 minutes and used only things we already had in the house. I made a glitzy centerpiece using some silver ornaments I had laying around and some of the gold leaves I had left from the Ravens wreath I made back in October. Here’s project #2…this one’s for the kiddos! We already had all the supplies:- cardstock- contact paper- scissors- assorted sequins and glitter {ours came from our friends at CraftProjectIdeas.com!}

The original tutorial is great; we followed the instructions almost exactly, and they give a great tip for cutting a halfway decent looking six pointed star. As we worked, I talked with him about what it meant to set goals and make resolutions, then we wrote his around the star on both sides. New Year Printables - 2015 Calendars and Stationery. Making wishes is a great way to introduce children to resolutions and goals for the new year in a gentle and generous way. I love this craft and know you all will too! Here’s my idea for a wishing tree I made today with my children aged 3 and 6. It’s a simple craft activity which creates a beautiful centerpiece and also encourages children to think of others by making wishes for them – perfect for this time of year.

As the tree uses star symbols it’s suitable for Christian or Jewish celebrations. You’ll need: paint, card, glitter, a star shaped cookie cutter, scissors, hole punch, glue – and a tree! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Ver the season too. These 5 pointed origami stars are easy to fold and make beautiful Christmas decorations. You can make them from magazines, scrapbook papers or sheet music, whatever you happen to have lying around. We don’t have our tree up just yet so for now I’ve put these Christmas star decorations on our mantelpiece. One of the 5 pointed origami stars is folded from scan of a dictionary page and the others are made from vintage style scrapbook papers. I went for vintage patterns but you could equally well use bright Christmas colors. I also tried hanging them on the mirror in our living room and I think they look quite nice there: Perhaps we’ll move them to our Christmas tree once it’s up :-) Credit for this design belongs to Shuzo Fujimoto, who created the design in the 70s.

As a teacher for multiple years, I was on the receiving end of many lovely and wonderful gifts for various occasions and as a momma now who is experiencing giving gifts to teachers for the first time, I wanted to make sure that I give gifts to my kids’ teachers that they will love and enjoy for years to come.

Please let me preface this post with a disclaimer so I don’t have people throwing rocks in my general direction: all teachers {or at least the good ones} will appreciate *any and all* gifts sent their direction. I can tell you from personal experience that I certainly did not go into the profession to expect gifts from my students and their families and every single present that was sent my direction was received with lots of love and appreciation.
