LA Times--Sea Level Rise. LA Times--Fires. You’ve heard of ‘fake news’? Now we have ‘fake weather’ New scary (but bogus) weather term from the left-leaning media: “heat storm” comes from the Star Wars movie, but doesn’t happen on Earth.
L A Times conceals colossal irrelevance of state’s “cut climate emissions” schemes. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin The L.
A. Times published an article hyping the fact that California wildfire emissions are jeopardizing the state’s bureaucratically obtrusive and hugely expensive greenhouse gas emissions reduction campaign shenanigans. L A Times “climate change facts” article conceals critical global energy & emissions data. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin The article offers climate change straw man arguments that distract readers from much more relevant and important climate change alarmist flawed realities.
The article tries to limit the climate change issues discussed by only addressing possible future roles for nuclear power, excuses trying to minimize the importance of China’s CO2 emissions growth and how “decarbonization” schemes in the U.S. will create jobs. While these issues may be legitimate in some academic context they are far removed from the realities facing climate change propagandists regarding the world’s overwhelming need to continue huge future increases in fossil fuel use (and resulting emissions) to meet the requirements driven by the globe’s developing nations economic growth objectives.
L. A. Times hypes coastal cliff erosion 9+ centuries into the future at existing sea level rise rates. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin The L.
A. Times takes despicable propaganda advantage of the recent and tragic Encinitas bluff collapse to hype future bluff erosion impacts from 2 meter sea level rise increases that would in fact take over 9+ centuries to occur at existing NOAA tide gauge coastal sea level rise measurement rates. Greenland Propaganda Meltdown.
Seth Borenstein has taken Greenland propaganda to an impressive new level.
Greenland’s glaciers are melting like never before, especially Helheim – Los Angeles Times Looking at his claims individually. This is where Earth’s refrigerator door is left open, where glaciers dwindle and seas begin to rise. Nonsense. Sea level has been rising for 20,000 years – most of the time much faster than at present. File:Post-Glacial Sea Level.png – Wikimedia Commons By season’s end, about 440 billion tons of ice — maybe more — will have melted or calved off Greenland’s giant ice sheet, experts estimate. The average for this time of year is less than 18 billion tons.
Greenland’s surface has gained 160 billion tons of new ice this year, after gains of 500 and 540 billion tons during the last two years. In one of the closest towns, Kulusuk, the morning temperature reached 52 degrees Fahrenheit — warm enough for shirtsleeves. Anti science L. A. Times hypes propaganda denying global wide Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin The Los Angeles Times is at it again hyping anti science climate alarmist propaganda trying to conceal the global wide Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age that are supported and justified by hundreds of scientific studies.
This climate alarmist propaganda Times article cites a new “study” that ridiculously attempts to deny these clearly established warm and cool periods in our past. This alarmist hyped new “study” is addressed in a superb article at the JoNova website demonstrating the complete lack of scientific veracity of this studies claims. There is nothing I can add to show how politically contrived and inane the claims are from this new “study” beyond the excellent presentation in the JoNova article. L. A. Times article on excess California solar incredibly misleading. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin As is usually the case with all Los Angeles Times climate alarmist and renewable energy advocacy articles this latest one hyping the wonders of highly subsidized and unreliable solar energy is full of propaganda claims extolling the alleged benefits of solar energy.
The article claims that California in 2018 achieved the goal of having 34% of its electricity provided by renewable energy. This claim is completely wrong. Actual energy use data from the CEC clearly shows that in both 2017 and 2018 only 29% of the states electricity was provided by renewables versus the 2018 planned target of 34%. Even more significant the state has been falling behind its targeted renewable energy growth time table since at least 2012 by only achieving 15% renewables that year versus the planned 22% target. Only dispatchable and reliable fossil plants can provide these functions. Like this: Like Loading... May 26, 2019. LA Times Misreports Mexican Energy Realism. Emily Green writes at LA Times Alternative energy efforts in Mexico slow as Lopez Obrador prioritizes oil.
Excerpts in italics with my bolds. The title of the article is not wrong, as we shall see below. But as usual climatists leave out the reality so obvious in the pie chart above. Seeing which energy sources are driving his nation’s prosperity provides the missing context for understanding the priorities of Mexican President Andres Lopez Obrador The alarmist/activist hand-wringing is in full display: With its windy valleys and wide swaths of desert, Mexico has some of the best natural terrain to produce wind and solar energy.
UCI study blithely calls for $100 trillion shutdown of fossil plants to meet Paris climate goals. L. A. Times conceals facts regarding climate policy repudiation which triggered Australian PM Turnbull’s ouster. Debunking the L A Times story claiming new study shows human caused warming doubled western U.S. area burned since 1984. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin The October 10, 2016 Times article addresses a study recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences where the authors claimed that through the use of large scale climate models and annual wildfire data from 1984 to 2015 they determined that man made climate change increased the aridity of wildfire fuel by 55% which doubled the area of the western U.S. that burned during this period.
This latest story is significantly different in its presentation of a supposed wildfire connection to climate change versus a wildfire story which was published in the Times on October 18, 2015 where Governor Brown’s attempt to link man made climate change to wildfires was unsupported by fire experts. . ( L A Times dishonest, deceptive and flawed claim that Hurricane Harvey is linked to man made climate change. Guest essay by Larry Hamlin The L A Times published yet another of its climate alarmist campaign articles unsupported by scientific data attempting to politicalize Hurricane Harvey as being connected to man made climate change.
This article is just another of the papers flawed attempts to falsely portray the occurrence of natural climate and weather events as being driven by greenhouse gas emissions. The L A Times long standing schemes to push a purely political and scientifically unsupported climate alarmist agenda are well documented at WattsUpWithThat?
In articles noted here, here, here and here.
