Color Flood II. Interfacelab. Today I would like to introduce you to VIX, my latest video editing application for OS X.
VIX is a different kind of video editor. What makes it different from the NLEs that you might be used to, for example Final Cut Pro, is that VIX is video editing driven by audio. The basic premise is that VIX will automatically edit a list of videos to the tempo of a song, but it goes much further than that. You have complete control over every edit and there is a fun interplay between the manual process and allowing VIX to automatically edit for you. The following is a video created entirely with VIX. Solving Problems with a Big Hammer To give some history into how VIX came into being, I’ll have to explain my involvement with Em Oi.

On “S.L.Smith” blog, hosted by Stephanie Smith, I found a detailed instruction with pictures that will guide you through the process.
All you need is some basic, household ingredients – plastic bottles, vegetable oil, water, food coloring and Alka-Seltzer. Don’t be shy and show us your versions of the Lava Lamp on Handimania’s fan page :) We’re curious which shapes of bottles and colors work best for you and how much fun you had while making it! Although there's several ways to achieve this effect, most require 3D glasses and/or a special display device. This article focuses on a technique which requires nothing more than an ordinary digital camera and photo editing software. It works by combining two separate photos into a single animated image (often using the standard GIF format), as shown below. While this clearly isn't recommended for all your photos, it's certainly a fun trick to experiment with when you want to create a different look.
