Adam's Weekly Pull List - Comics for (08/21/13) Hellooooooo, my fellow freaks and geeks!
It is I, Adam, the Not-So-Caped Crusader. And while I am not a billionaire who fights crime, I am someone who can tell you what comics I’ll be reading this week! Okay, not the greatest superpower, but here we go: Lobster Johnson: A Scent of Lotus #2 – The Lobster faces off against the Crimson Lotus in this pulp-a-palooza of a book. The Bounce #4 – Joe Casey and David Messina continue the psychedelic, superhero story of Jasper Jenkins. Daredevil Vol. 3 #30 – Daredevil and the Silver Surfer as written by Mark Waid and drawn by Chris Samnee. Indestructible Hulk #12 – The Hulk fights dinosaurs. Xkcd: Flowchart. Batman Beyond and Justice League Beyond Get New Creative Teams - IGN. Batman Beyond – IGN DC has announced a change up to the Batman Beyond and Justice League Beyond creative teams.
I’m not a big fan of either, but changes are often accompanied by confusion by fans about story lines, characters, and why – exactly – a writer or artist (0r both) decided to leave (or get fired from) a series. Batman Beyond and Justice League Beyond, two of DC’s popular digital-first series on the DC Comics app, are getting some new blood this summer.Taking over the adventures of Terry McGinnis in Batman Beyond will be current Nightwing scribe Kyle Higgins along with artist Thony Silas (Venom) and the amazing Sean Murphy and colorist Jordie Bellaire on cover duties.
As for the future incarnation of the Justice League, writer Christos Gage (Avengers Academy) and artist Iban Coello (Superboy) will be taking the reins. Adam's (Belated) Weekly Reviews - 3/20/13. At last, my fellow freaks and geeks, I make with the comic reviews.
And, short of the Hand showing up to beat the hell out of me, which is possible, my reviews will be every Thursday from here on out. But enough about me, let’s get to those comics: Constantine #1 – John Constantine is still a bastard. Yes! When DC announced it would be ending Hellblazer in order to bring Constantine fully into the New-52 I was worried. This is a strong first issue, but then again it’s Lemire and Fawkes, and they are no slouches.
As for the artwork, Renato Guedes delivers. This is a definite buy. Wonder Woman Vol. 4 #18 – When we last left Wonder Woman, Hermes was ready to strike at her with a sword and, elsewhere, the First Born (the first child of Zeus and Hera) was fighting Poseidon. Brian Azzarello is both one of the greatest writers and one of the most frustrating storytellers – this is compliment and complaint, with more emphasis on the compliment. Brandon's Weekly Pull List 3/27/2013. Like pages flipping through a comic book, so are the days of our life model decoy lives that we have no idea we’re living.
Bodacious here on this nice spring(?) Sunday and I’m here with my pull list for the week! Let’s see what’s up ahead. Age of Ultron #3 – This is Ultron’s world, we just live in it. But do our heroes have a plan to take him out? Superior Spider-Man #6 AU – Tie in time! Batman Incorporated Vol. 2 #9 – The damage has been done. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 #1 – Earth has so much going on nowadays, what will all the crazy aliens and diabolical villains trying to take over.
Adam's Weekly Pull List - 3/27/13. Brandon's Bodacious Weekly Comic Review 3/14/2013. Brandon's Weekly Pull List. From the seedy underbelly of Harlem, I emerge! The name’s Brandon (or Bodacious) and this is my comic list for the week. Age Of Ultron #1 – The infamous Ultron returns in this first issue of this 10 part Marvel event, and he’s definitely taking names this time.
Question is will the heroes stand any chance? Avengers Vol. 5 #7 – When a new Universal SYSTEM arises, the Avengers are put to the test. Also, the new Adam is transformed, and a new dangerous hero emerges! Venom Vol. 2 #32 – Flash is now in Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love… but so is good ol’ Toxin. Adam's Weekly Pull List - 3/6/13. Sometimes you get trapped in the multiverse and… well, anyway, I am back and this time with a team of two other people to bring you more comic book reviews!
But, first, let’s show off the pull list. Animal Man Vol. 2 #18 – “ROTWORLD” has ended, but can Animal Man ever be the same? Also, how will his family handle everything that has happened? DC promises a game changer. Swamp Thing Vol. 5 #18 – Scott Snyder’s last issue of his amazing Swamp Thing run. Sex #1 – From the brilliantly insane mind of Joe Casey (The Milkman Murders) comes the story of Simon Cooke – a retired superhero turned average joe… or is that true? Age of Ultron #1 – Once upon a time, Hank Pym created a form of A.I. named Ultron that grew bitter toward its creator and humanity, and thus threatened to bring forth the apocalypse.
All-New X-Men #8 – The past X-Men meet the Avengers of the present. What about you, readers? Tribute to Stan Lee via J Scott Campbell and Deviantart.com - Geek Eccentric : Geek Eccentric.
