5 Foods You Have In Your Kitchen That Should Be In Your Hair
Baking soda should be in your hair if it has build-up. Let’s make a pact today. You and me. From now on, when we have a beauty issue, we’ll look in the cabinets – first – before we run out and buy an expensive (or even bargain) product to fix us. And, I know, I know … there’s just something a little bit comforting about picking up a bottle of FancySchmancy-Make-You-Fabulous Potion; there’s some weird satisfaction in forking over your hard-earned money to feel hot.
Update On The 'S' French Braid Updo: Step By Step How-to
I am flattered that the response is so great on the French Braid Updo. Here is a series of steps in photos that hopefully sheds some light on how to do it. Brush your hair. If it goes big, that's OK!
Traditional Beauty Tips
Everyone hates being told, “I told you so,” and most women also hate thinking their mother was right. However, on stepping upon the threshold of thirty, and with my South Asian mother now in her early sixties, I can’t help but notice that on a good day, she looks not more than maybe only five or ten years older. And with each wrinkle, thinned out skin or spot I notice, I hear her quite literally echoing voice telling me “I told you so.”
...love Maegan: * Partial French Braid &Cascading Hair Tutorial *also known as the "Waterfall Braid" Fashion+Home+Lifestyle Blog
I’m not the originator of this hair style but I’ve gotten so many requests for it, I thought I’d give it a go for you. I don’t know what it’s called either so I haven’t researched it and/or found any other tutorials for it …thus, this is my version of it, and I’ve dubbed it the Partial French Braid w/ Cascading Hair. The photos I’ve seen online show the braid a little more straight across the back of the head and mine sort of braids at an angle, similar to my side/low french braid up-do. I’m sure this is 100% easier to do on someone else’s hair than your own but it goes pretty quickly once you get the hang of it …I mean, it’s my shortest hair video tutorial to date. That’s gotta mean something, right Enjoy.
How to: 8 different home facials
Facials are a great way to keep your skin glowing, but they can be pricey. We asked Louisa Macan-Graves, author of Hollywood Beauty Secrets: Remedies to the Rescue, and Elda Argenti, owner of the Plantogen skincare line, for their favorite make-at-home face masks crafted from common household ingredients. For All Skin Types Brighten: Cut a slice of ripe papaya and remove the seeds and pulp (save the pulp for a snack later—it’s great for digestion).
Complete Hairstyles Guide
In the world of hair styling, edge control is something most of my fair, flaxen-haired friends have never heard of, but it's an essential step for kinky-curly, bound-to-be-frizzy, African-American hair maintenance. Those stray wispies along the hairline aren't meant to roam free, as in some sepia-toned Alicia Keys video. If there's anything our favorite naturalistas have taught us, it's that going natural isn't just about going with the 'fro, and taming those frazzled edges at your hairline takes a lot more artillery than a little shine serum and hairspray. Controlling your edges can be a lifelong project ... a mission, if you will. But there's a whole category of products designed to make this mission: possible.
How to: 5 beauty tips made easy
We asked what intimidates you most about beauty, and you answered: wearing red lipstick, committing to a new hairstyle, waxing your legs, wearing false eyelashes and applying liquid eyeliner. But don’t fear: Follow our step-by-step guides, and you’ll learn how to get each look right. 1. Red Lipstick “I shy away from red lipstick because I’m afraid it’s too flashy and will make me look like a clown.”—Kielin Greeley, 40, Tenafly, NJ

Hair chalking has become very popular in the last few months as quirky, off-the-wall hair colors began popping up everywhere, even celebrities and models donned crayola locks. And with the dip dye trend, girls everywhere were looking for ways to add unique pops of personality to their natural manes. Some opted for the bleach + semi-permanent hair dye route. Others hunted for temporary solutions; they either had day jobs with strict policies, or even stricter parents. Until chalking, the only temporary solutions were gels and sprays.
How to: home made anti acne masks
Acne is an annoying problem that causes inconvenience not only to teenagers, but also to adults. Anyone that have or had this problem knows that there is no ‘cure’ that will magically clear the skin once and for all. To get the maximum effect and control the acne, it is necessary to combine different treatments. Homemade anti acne face masks should be part of the skin care routine for skin prone to acne.

Extremely pronounced lipliner in dark hues was definitely a popular makeup trend in the 90’s—these days, it’s chic to apply your liner in the color that coordinates with your lipstick or gloss. Finding a liner in the right shade and blending the liner correctly will help to keep your lip color on all day, and accentuate the shape of your pout. More: Get In Line: Tips for Making Your Lipliner Picture-Perfect Every Day → TheIslandBeauty takes less than five minutes to explain that most Black women need at least two foundation colors to create a “full face.” The lighter highlighting color covers more than just the area directly under the eyes, and the finished product makes for completely even skin tone. The video also proves that there’s a way to wear more than one color of makeup that doesn’t make the face look too “cakey.”
