The Publishing Power of Google Slides
Allowing opportunities for student choice and flexibility is at the forefront of my teaching philosophy for middle school learners. I have had the privilege of teaching two Grade 8 students for consecutive school years and I wanted to give them an opportunity to showcase their strengths and explore their passions- one an exceptional writer and one a captivating artist. Being a Certified Google Trainer my students have become fluent and proficient in the core applications of Google Apps for Education.
Free and Directly Copy URL to Google Drive/OneDrive/Dropbox
Copy File to Google Drive Directly From URL – Easy & Fast Usually, if we want to save online files on remote server or cloud drives to our Google account, we have to first of all download them from website to local device, then upload them from local storage to destination Google Drive. This seems not that complicated. Yet, if there are a lot of items needs to be stored in GDrive, you have to repeat the same task once and once again. This is a time-consuming and tedious work. Moreover, you need enough local space to temporarily contain target files and you have to delete them from local machine after the whole project if you do not want them to occupy your precious disk storage.

When Google Slides first came out, I wasn’t very kind in my review of all that it could do (or not do). However, the iOS app has seen a lot of improvements and today Google released a brand new feature that will be great for classrooms and presenters everywhere – a live question and answer module that lets an audience ask and vote on questions they would most like you do address. Here’s how it works. When I first tried out this feature, I couldn’t find how to activate it. My app was up to date, but there was nothing in the menus that indicated how to start a Q&A session.

6 handy hidden features in Google Docs on Android
Few apps are more critical to mobile productivity than the humble word processor. I think I've probably spent a solid seven years of my life staring at Google Docs on one device or another at this point, and those minutes only keep ticking up further with practically every passing day. While we can't do much about the need to gaze at that word-filled white screen, what we can do is learn how to make every moment spent within Docs count — and in the Docs Android app, specifically, there are some pretty spectacular tucked-away time-savers just waiting to be embraced. Make a mental note of these advanced shortcuts and options, and put 'em to good use the next time you find yourself staring at Docs on your own device.
New Google Slides Features!
Google just released a couple amazing upgrades to Slides that I'm quite jazzed about! The most noteable is a new integrated backchannel/audience participation tool they're calling "Q&A". Now, when you're presenting using Google Slides, you can display a short URL that audience members can access and submit questions while you're presenting. Audience members can see everyone's questions and vote up the questions they also want to hear answered! As the presenter, you're able to see the questions at any time and how many votes each has received.
