Lost & Found Lane: Crocodile Stitch The Easy Way I was very frustrated when searching the internet for a free pattern to learn the Crocodile Stitch. All I could find were youtube video's that are very confusing in demonstrating how they crochet this stitch. I had to stop and start the videos over and over again to get the basic idea of the stitch. It was most confusing the way they were flipping the crochet around it was so hard to fallow along. It was even more frustrating when it came to watching them start the second row of the Crocodile stitch. However after a lot a trial and error and even more hair pulling I finally figured out how to crochet the Crocodile stitch on my own.

how-to: woven circles trivet I found the gold and pink crocheted trivet pictured below at the thrift store this weekend, and it was a total "I can make that" moment. The structure of the circles is made from plastic rings cut from one of those pieces that holds together a six-pack of soda. The hardest part will be in finding plastic rings that are actually circle. The sodas that were in my fridge (a Pepsi product) had "rings" that were more of an oval, almost D-like shape. Luckily I had a rounded version laying around, though I have no idea what kind of soda it came from. I am going to have to go to the 7-Eleven for research. Rainbow mitts for Maia Maia started back at preschool this week and because its so wintery I wanted to make her some new fingerless mitts. The beauty of fingerless mittens is in their simple design… there really is nothing easier to crochet than a small rectangle in Half Double Crochet (HDC). These fingerless mittens are sure to brighten any little girl’s day! Easy Crochet Fingerless Mittens Tutorial (sized for a 4-5 year old) Using a 4mm crochet hook and DK (8ply) yarn of your choice.

Star Seams: a New Paper-Pieced Star, If You Dare One evening while perusing a catalogue, I found a shape that I wanted to try replicating in fabric: this mirror. I tried it out first with some lovely scraps... Pattern: Rosetta General information Skill level Beginner
