Hilarious Celebrity Portraits

Hilarious Celebrity Portraits
New York-based photographer Martin Schoeller loves to make us laugh! Take a look at his celebrity portraits of everyone from Quentin Tarantino to Chris Rock and you'll notice a common theme running throughout his work. They're wonderfully wacky! Having worked as an assistant for Annie Leibovitz from 1993 to 1996, Schoeller has the guts to create dramatic scenes that call for his subjects to work outside the box. He's been a staff photographer at The New Yorker since 1999 and his work has appeared in magazines like Rolling Stone, Esquire, Vogue and Vanity Fair.

Photo Tips and Techniques for Beginners DIY Fashion and Craft Tutorials | Stars for StreetlightsStars for Streetlights I remember the day I got my DSLR camera in the mail-- I had saved up for months to buy my little Nikon D40 and I watched the postal tracking code like my dog waits for her food in the mornings. (So. Excited.) :) When my brown Amazon box finally came, my heart was beating so fast that I could barely cut open the tape. I took out the Nikon and held it in my hands-- that weight and feel is so familiar to me today. Back then, I didn't have a clue as to what in the heck I was doing. This photo: ISO: 400, f/2.8, Shutter: 1/30, taken in Wyoming at the Grand Tetons National Park, summer 2011. I think that composition is the first, easiest, most fun, and most important lesson to learn in photography. Square Composition: This photo: ISO: 400, f/5.6, Shutter: 1/125, taken in the middle of the "Snowpocalypse" that happened early Feb. 2011. I am also a huge fan of the square photograph. More square love: This photo was taken in Victoria, BC in fall 2010. To freeze motion: To illustrate motion: For fun:

A letter on my door step. portraits are more than paper. « Fototails Photography There will be no portrait photos in this post. This letter wasn’t mailed – it was at my doorstep when I got home a couple months ago. I read it, I cried, and read it again – probably a hundred times by now. It wasn’t easy to read – and honestly, as much as it validates what I do for a living – I wasn’t sure I was going to share it either. July 2nd, 2011 Jeanine - Today I am writing for a couple of reasons. You photographed my wedding, you photographed my first pregnancy and my first baby. That week that I decided to NOT do a session with you, this is how I spent some money. On Sunday I called and cancelled our session. I watch your Facebook page and your posts about the value of a photo and if I could give back all of those things that I purchased this few weeks after I cancelled my session with you, knowing what I know now, and have that session, well… I would do it in a heartbeat. Now my time is done and there are no more chances for me. Karen L. Like this: Like Loading...
