A Cozy Kitchen & Churro Tots Happy Wednesday, beautiful people.Factoid for you: Getting my car serviced stresses me.To deal, I totally made Churro Tots. Throw in stress eating and calls to dad, and it some how made everything okay. I encourage it!Last week I went to a cookbook release party at Border Grill and they had churros…in tot form!
Cake Batter Pancakes I’m fairly convinced that the world would be a better place if more sprinkles were involved. I know. I just made pancakes. It seems I have an unnatural obsession with cake batter. Well I do. But hear me out. Apple Pie Egg Rolls Apple Pie Egg Rolls I saw one of the Food Network stars making apple chimichangas and thought I had to have some for myself. I bought flour tortillas and apples, and then I used the flour tortillas for tacos. Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries These cheesecake stuffed strawberries are the perfect dessert treat! Can I just say that I have died and gone to heaven. Good Ol’ Homemade Brownies This may be a cooking blog, but I find myself sharing some of my deepest, darkest secrets (never having tried oatmeal before, for instance) here. So far you all have accepted me and all the horrible things I’ve kept hidden for years and years. I can only hope that you will continue to stand by my side as I reveal this next bit of private information about myself. I prefer my brownies to be made from a box mix.
chocolate banana crepes This past Friday night was meant for celebrating. The weather was sit-out-on-the-deck-in-the-cool-evening-breeze perfection. Friends gathered from all around the city with chips and salsa and salads and popcorn and laughter and stories to share. The fire pit was aflame. The candles were lit on this (gluten free and vegan) carrot cake. And a very special birthday girl turned the big 3-0. Homemade Nutella Recipe If you ask me, Nutella should be considered one of the four main food groups. This chocolate-hazelnut spread has it all: healthy fat and protein from nuts, heart-healthy antioxidants from the dark chocolate, a touch of sweetness to fulfill that…um…sugar requirement…okay, so it’s not quite ready for a starring role on the food pyramid. Who cares, when it tastes so good?
Cupcake Bites « Veronica's Cornucopia Although this is a Bakerella original, I actually got the idea from a friend who learned about cake pops from me and has never even heard of Bakerella. She was going to make cake balls for her sister’s wedding, discovered that they are a pain to dip (I AGREE!! I WOULD LOVE MAKING CANDY IF IT DIDN’T EVER INVOLVE DIPPING THINGS IN CHOCOLATE! ARRRRG!), and then came up with this idea all on her own. I didn’t discover until after I’d copied her idea that she’s not the first to have it but it just goes to show, great minds think alike.
