One thing you may have noticed if you have read Megatokyo both online and in the dead tree versions is that there are quite a number of comics in the archive here that appear to be unfinished but show up in Megatokyo Volume 6 in finished, fully hatched and rendered form. Most of these were from the first year of having a new baby in the house and just getting a comic posted was a major feat, but i DID have to finish them for the book. As with many things on this site (coughcharachterpagecough) The one thing i never did was go back and update the web-versions of these comics with the finished, fully hatched versions.

George Takei Calls For Peace Between ‘Star Trek’ And ‘Star Wars’ Fans The renewed rivalry between ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Star Wars’ started when William Shatner said ‘Trek’ was superior because ‘Star Wars’ was derivative and lacked story. In her response, she defended the quality of ‘Star Wars’ and challenged Shatner to a “costume-off.” Determined to have the last word, William Shatner released a video that repeated his views about ‘Star Wars.’ Coming to our rescue is the dashing and incomparable Mr. Zero Punctuation Zero Punctuation is The Escapist's groundbreaking video review series starring Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. In this particular case, it helped prevent a third of all cervical cancer cases among women in India. In developed nations like the U.S., doctors use pap smears to look for signs of cervical cancer. Those in poor nations can’t afford these tests so doctors looked to cheaper methods that got the job done.

Village Integration Today we got back from the villages. Our schedule is going to be Tuesday through Saturday in the villages and then Sunday and Monday we'll be in Livingston. I will say, the last five days have been really good. Between corporate and personal time with the Lord, I've been spending about three hours a day in God's presence. It's been such a blessing. Yahoo eliminates classic Mail, requiring users to agree to Gmail-like email scanning From Monday June 3rd, Yahoo's "classic" Mail interface is no more. Yahoo unveiled a redesign of its webmail interface late last year , but has until now allowed users to use the old version. Anyone that hasn't signed up for to the new experience will be prompted to upgrade or give up on Yahoo Maill altogether. To upgrade, you'll have to agree to a new terms of service agreement that grants Yahoo the permission to "scan and analyze all incoming and outgoing communications content sent and received from your account." The company notes that it collects and stores some data to "provide personally relevant product features and content, to match and serve targeted advertising and for spam and malware detection and abuse protection."

Luis Ruuska: In Defense of the Teachers of America: What We Can Learn From Jeff Bliss It was the viral video of the week. Jeff Bliss, a sophomore at Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas was asked to leave his World History class by his teacher, but he didn't go without a passionate speech about his teacher's lack of passion for her profession. I won't waste time reiterating what other articles have already said though. Long story short, Bliss expressed his frustration with his teacher for "teaching" by giving out packets instead of engaging with her students. The video's core message is summarized when Bliss says "You got to take this job serious, this is the future of this nation... this is my country's future and my education."

First Person: How My Child's Toys Taught Me About Family My five-year-old daughter's favorite toys are a family of plush cats: Star-Cat (who is pink and sparkly), Pusheen (a toy from a popular Tumblr meme ), and their three kittens. In my daughter's own imaginary world, these five felines form a perfect family. Pusheen and Star-Cat had been an item for several months when I noticed something unusual about my daughter's make-believe games. Sometimes Pusheen was male and Star-Cat was female. Cute Baby Practices Life-Saving Skill If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing emergency CPR, hopefully this adorable baby girl is nearby to help resuscitate you. It would appear the tiny tike knows exactly what to do, as she's seen in this video giving a practice dummy CPR. She slowly scoots towards the dummy on her bottom, then begins multiple chest compressions, takes a pause to look questionably up towards the camera as if she's asking, "Am I doing this right?"
