Broken phones, weird chargers for things you can’t fully recall; we try to convince ourselves this sad array of misfit gadgetry will simply disappear if we just forget about it hard enough. How did we get here? Our phones are the major culprit. video 2: -quelle-est-l-empreinte-carbone-de-votre-t-shirt? 5 TED-Ed Lessons to watch on Earth Day How do solar panels work? Can wildlife adapt to climate change? How many TED-Ed Lessons include animated Earths, anyway? Here are 5 TED-Ed Lessons (and 1 great TED-Ed video compilation of animated Planet Earths) to watch now: 1. Top 10 Solutions to Fight Climate Change Paul Hawken and the Project Drawdown experts thought they knew what to expect when they modeled and ranked 80 solutions that could reverse global warming. But the data had some surprises in store. Most prominently was that even when the solutions are modeled in terms of what they call a “Plausible Scenario”—a conservative measure of projected solution implementation that is “reasonable yet optimistic”—society still makes great strides toward achieving drawdown, the point where greenhouse-gas levels in the atmosphere begin to decline. Together, all 80 reduce or sequester carbon by 1,051 gigatons by 2050 in the Plausible Scenario.
Earth Challenge 2020 Earth Challenge 2020 is the world’s largest ever coordinated citizen science campaign. The initiative integrates existing citizen science projects and builds capacity for new ones — all to grow citizen science worldwide. Using mobile technology and open citizen science data, Earth Challenge 2020 empowers people around the world to monitor and mitigate threats to environmental and human health in their communities. Coordinated in partnership with the Wilson Center and the U.S. Department of State, Earth Challenge 2020 connects, builds and enables global communities to leverage the power of scientific research to drive meaningful change.
IX. 3.2. Example of projects in environmental education by lower primary teacher training students In our institute the training of lower primary teachers comprises two levels. The first level covers the basic education of lower primary teacher training; in this phase students obtain general, scientifically based training in all areas of sciences. From the second year on, parallel with the basic BA education, the second level is introduced with a specialisation in one of the main sciences whose terms and pedagogy are offered to students in various courses. The basic education of lower primary teachers prepares students to teach in the first four classes of primary schools. Their specialization prepares them to teach the first six classes in primary schools.
