Geometric Sand Sculptures by Calvin Seibert «TwistedSifter Nov 27, 2012 Using a variety of 3D geometric shapes such as prisms, pyramids, cylinders, spheres and cones; artist Calvin Seibert creates wonderful sand sculptures that are not quite ‘castles’ but much more than just randomly placed building blocks. On Flickr, you can find an entire 66-picture gallery of Calvin’s artwork which have all been washed away by the sea. Luckily for us, Calvin immortalized his pieces through photography so we can all enjoy his fantastic creations!
New Horizons: Index?order=downlinkDate&page=1 The images posted at this website were taken by the LOng Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) on the New Horizons spacecraft. LORRI is the most sensitive and highest resolution imager aboard New Horizons. In fact, it is one of the most sensitive and highest resolution imagers ever flown on a planetary mission. LORRI is comprised of a Ritchey-Chrétien telescope and a 1024 x 1024 pixel (optically active region) CCD detector operated in frame-transfer mode. The telescope has a 20.8 cm diameter primary mirror, a focal length of 262 cm, and a three lens field-flattening assembly (see Fig. 1).

SketchUcation Community Forums Pilou wrote:"à la main" I think that'à la main' = by hand - you deliver a document by hand [i.e. it is in your hand] OR 'fait à la main' = hand-made [in English this phrase is normally reserved for things like food, clothes, furniture etc, but not in the general sense of 'manually' (manuellement) which is often used as the opposite of 'automatically'] - 'à la main' is a general usage and can be used in many case without misinterpretation, as it literally means 'at [the] hand' - so it is often used regarding anything relating to 'hands', BUT then'par la main' = by [the use of the] hand - you make a SKP mesh by hand - in the sense that you 'made it with your hand[s]' ['manually'] rather than making it ''automatically, perhaps using EEbyRails or Fredo's new gizmo [ you are unlikely to leave it at home
Scouting merit badges for cool shit like prank-calls, grave-robbing and arson! Scouting merit badges for cool shit like prank-calls, grave-robbing and arson! These are totally badass. Artist Luke Drozd is responsible for these “Alternative Scouting for Girls and Boys Merit Badges.” The badges are based on a comic strip from his Threnodies book. The patches are standard merit badge size, about 4.5 cm diameter, and can be sewn or ironed-on to your favorite jacket or scouting sash. If these had been around when I was a kid, I may have actually joined the Cub Scouts. You make me smile. You're just so wonderful and Sasha knows this too would be my guess. You should write her a letter, maybe be pen pals! I bet she'd think that was pretty awesome every time she'd get a letter and I bet if you got one in return, it would warm your heart to the melting point. by featherking Jan 17
My sister was running much later than she anticipated getting Sasha to my folks at their midway meeting point and it would be after bedtime when they arrived so I left a note on her pillow, knowing I'd get her riled up if I was there. I surprisingly got a little choked up while signing it. I realized much of our interaction is physical and verbal- I don't usually put words on paper to her and it suddenly felt like something I should try to remedy. Anyway now I'm all weepy and snotty like an idiot. I very selfishly could have used a hug from her and didn't realize it- but I may have burst into tears on her so maybe this was best... That kid has me by the heartstrings if it hasn't been obvious before. She just makes everything better somehow. by megela Jan 16
Oh! Ok...taking heed. I will save this for just the right moment to spend a few hours. Fiora has a real Spirograph set and I pulled it out a few weeks ago. It is surprisingly hard to spin a perfect one. Some snowy day this winter I'm pretty sure that a number of hours will be spent practicing. by featherking Jan 15
Dudddddeee. Don't play with this. You'll lose hours, nay weeks. Um, what year is it again? by megela Jan 15
