Personal Note on "Cry Me A River"- I think this song shows Ella Fitzgerald personality and talent perfectly. Throughout the whole song, Ella Fitzgerald shows off her vocals by going up and down in range, but in small waves. This song also shows off Ella Fitzgeralds personality with her jazz music background and culture. She keeps the jazz in the song but also adds her own sound too it, keeping it unique. I really enjoy this song because the lyrics sound sad (example being "You nearly drove me out of my head, while you never shed a tear" but the beat of the song is almost upbeat. The meaning of the song also makes me feel good because she is basically telling this guy that it's too late to be crying over her now because she's gone! I really enjoy listening to this song, and I can't help but think of Justin Timberlakes song "Cry Me A River" and think that he got the idea from Ella Fitzgerald. Words/168 by aedwards1 Oct 28
