The Farsight Institute | Global Climate Change RV Study: 2008-2013
Farsight's Climate Project A Global Climate Change Remote-Viewing Study Multiple Realities, Timelines, and Events 2008-2013 Introduction: We at The Farsight Institute are currently engaged in a fascinating study using remote viewing to study climate and planetary change between the 1 June 2008 and 1 June 2013. The initial results appear dramatic, but our "Early Update" published February 2013 (see below) suggests something much more limited. Our web site visitors are reminded that this is research, not certitude. Remember what Albert Einstein once said, "If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?" Special Note #1: The Internet is a wild place, and we cannot stop some people from making false statements regarding our experiments. Special Note #2: Daz Smith is keeping track of news stories that suggest possible feedback for this project. Below is the original report. Initial Results: In terms of the effects of these changes on humans, these data also suggest:

Dear Internet, You’ve made some pretty cool things in the past. Nyan cat and Robot Unicorn Attack are rainbowy good. What The Fox Say and that Game of Thrones song are both sing-it-for-your-neighbors-from-your-shower catchy. Cards Against Humanity is a delightful exploration of boundaries via kinetic poetry. But, there’s a major strategic area you’ve overlooked, Internet. Internet, you need to make a board game—think space strategy, a la Eclipse—where the ships/pieces are printed in real time. You start with no pieces and as the game opens, you build lots of weak little ships. As you know, Internet, any good board game needs a limit resources for which to compete. The game would come with a set of pre-designed models to be printed. This is just a quick braindump of the thoughts I had in the shower while thinking about you, Internet. I hope this time next month I won’t still be disappointed in you, Internet. Continue Reading » | 26 ♻ Retweet

Personal Finance for Young Professionals - Posts - Quora
(x-post from my blog, Personal Finance for Young Professionals) One of the most valuable classes at Cal that I attended was not an engineering class, nor was it technical. It was UGBA 196, Personal Financial Management. Professor Selinger seared into our brain about “the magic of compounding” and how it is ever so important that managing your personal finance while you are still young will reap benefits orders of magnitudes higher than if you started later. I’m writing this guide because ever since I took that class, I have learned how important it is to understand personal finance, and that especially for young working professionals, it is extremely important to start saving correctly right now. I am not claiming to be an expert (hardly one) in managing money, and you definitely should do your own research before doing anything. Magic of compounding First step, think about retirement. Look at that graph. That, is the magic of compounding. Why is time important? Retirement 401k vs IRA

Apparently, today is the day of people spending excessive amounts of time in Photoshop to (re)create scenes with them in it. This morning, my friend Geert send me this link to a page with 39 situations that have been altered to include the “artist” himself. It immediately reminded me of the “A Night Out with Kanye West” skit from Aziz Ansari, where he says: “We come inside this club, and he’s sitting there at this table with Jay-Z and all these models and stuff, and we did just not belong there. If you had a photo of that table you would have been like: who photoshopped those two dudes in there? That was a really good job!”. Anyway, if you think some guy photoshopping himself into pictures of Drake working out was pretty incredible, think again. Surreal self-portraits by a 14 year old
