Wikimedia Commons Il Webdoc: uno strumento didattico (2a parte) | Next Learning The next news: quali app per WebDoc. PowToon in Your Classroom Read Time: 6 minutes I recently read a study on creativity that blew my mind: “A major factor in creativity is education: not whether you had a ‘good’ or ‘expensive’ or ‘public’ education, but whether you were encouraged to develop your creativity starting at an early age and continuing throughout your school years.” — Adobe Powtoon in Your Classroom — Creativity & Education We saw this first-hand, when Edson Tellez, a volunteer teacher in rural Mexico, wrote to us about how Powtoon changed the way his students viewed the world. The mind blowing fact is that developing creativity is the primary determining factor in the overall success of your students! 1 – Students must have a platform to be creative with (physical materials, online programs, a stage etc…) 2- Direction – Even if you teach in the most affluent school, with the most expensive technology; your students are still only as good as the direction given to them. And Powtoon wants to help you ignite this creativity! 1. 2. 3. 4. Ms.

A Collection of Free Media Resources This post attempts to list my top favorite free sites for royalty-free images, music, and videos for creative projects. Since 2000 I have been teaching university students how to design for print, the web, and the screen. One of the very first things we go over is that it’s always best to use your OWN original photos, drawings, music, and videos that you created yourself. No need to get mauled by a lion trying to take that close-up That’s where royalty-free and public domain goodies come in! The list below is not at all an exhaustive one, but it will get you started right away with some of my very favorite sites tried and tested by myself and my students over the years with much success. MUSIC and SOUND EFFECTS:Flashkit.com -This is an old favorite of mine and students since the turn of the millennium.

Presentz Unmeasurable or immeasurable? | LibroEditing proofreading, editing, transcription, localisation This is one that came up in something I was editing a few days ago. And, I admit, one that I had to check in the dictionary. I was pretty sure the writer wanted unmeasurable (I was right), and I wasn’t sure that immeasurable was a word (I learned something, notably that SpellChecker doesn’t think it’s a word, which is why we still use dictionaries!). Unmeasurable means, specifically not able to be measured objectively. We use this one in the literal sense: “the immense lizard was unmeasurable with the tiny ruler in the standard lizard measuring kit”; “the sea trench in which the angler fish lived was of an unmeasurable depth”. Immeasurable means, a bit less specifically, I suppose, too large, extensive or extreme to measure. “I experienced immeasurable relief when I discovered that the width of the lake, filling and evaporating as it did, was actually unmeasurable.” You can find more troublesome pairs here and the index to them all so far is here. 28 Internet acronyms every parent should know It's a declarative statement: I want sex now. If it makes you feel any better, I had no clue, and neither did a number of women I asked about it. Acronyms are widely popular across the Internet, especially on social media and texting apps, because, in some cases, they offer a shorthand for communication that is meant to be instant. So "LMK" -- let me know -- and "WYCM" -- will you call me? But the issue, especially for parents, is understanding the slang that could signal some dangerous teen behavior, such as "GNOC,'" which means "get naked on camera." And it certainly helps for a parent to know that "PIR" means parent in room, which could mean the teen wants to have a conversation about things that his or her mom and dad might not approve of.
