Though I cannot, at this time, fathom an interest in ‘creativity workshops’ out of a necessity for more creativity in my life. In fact, I sometimes felt I had too much creativity and didn’t know what to do with all of it. The reason for my attending creativity courses at the outset was that I needed a way to mix my spiritual life – which was Buddhist meditation at the time – with my creative life. My issue was that I had been studying and practicing meditation and other Eastern spiritual methods for almost a decade when I realized I needed to somehow go back to doing my visual art, which I had done for many years before I embarked on my spiritual quest. After about nine years of studying and practicing meditation and Buddhist philosophy, I needed a break. Buddhism explained a lot for me. But somehow having these understandings was not enough for me.
