Culinary Colleen. Thursday, September 5, 2013 I’m trying to finally get in a routine now that we’re settled in our new apartment and both starting classes.
For me, that means stocking up the fridge and making a meal plan. Our meal plans are honestly never really set in stone, but we try to plan for at least a few things we know we’ll cook. We probably make chickpeas with spinach once a week, so I try to make sure we always have the ingredients on hand. We make it so much that it often gets shortened to “chix and spin.” Gluten Free Meatloaf. I think most people are lukewarm when it comes to meatloaf.
There probably aren’t many families who get fired up for meatloaf night. But those people don’t live in my house. Around here meatloaf night is a bit of a celebration. It’s all because of this meatloaf recipe, the same one I’ve been eating for as long as I can remember. This is the meatloaf my Mom always made and every time I eat it I love it more and more. It’s not a fancy recipe, but that’s one of the reasons I love it so much.
It’s really easy to throw this meal together on a weeknight. Gluten Free Meatloaf Prep time: Cook time: Total time: Serves: 4 Ingredients 1 pound lean ground beef½ cup rolled oats (use gluten free if necessary)¼ cup ketchup, plus 2 Tablespoons¼ cup onions, finely minced1 egg1 teaspoon salt½ teaspoon black pepper Instructions. Pot Roast Recipe. In order for this recipe to work properly, let the roast sit (wrapped) for one to two hours outside of the refrigerator so that it comes to room temperature (between 65 and 70°F) before cooking.
Otherwise, it will take a lot longer to cook at the low heat called for in this recipe. Method 1 Use a thick-bottomed covered pot (oven-proof if you intend to cook in oven), such as a dutch oven, just large enough to hold roast and vegetables. Heat 2 Tbsp of oil on medium high heat (hot enough to sear the meat). Pat the roast dry with paper towels. Gluten Free Meatballs. There is nothing quite as nostalgic for me as handmade meatballs crowning a bed of spaghetti.
The smell of fresh Italian aromas bring back some of the best memories of my childhood. I inhale and remember my Parents and all 7 of us kids gathered around the picnic table in our kitchen, eating spaghetti and meatballs, laughing, sharing, building friendships and memories I never knew I would cherish so much in my adult life. Try these deliciously succulent gluten-free meatballs – there’s nothing like simple, delicious Italian cuisine for creating memorable meals for your family or friends. Start by combining salt, paprika, oregano, marjoram, thyme, and pepper together. Now toss spices into a blender with 1 cup of certified gluten free oats and blend together into a flour-like consistency. Chop 1 large shallot, 4 cloves garlic, and a handful of fresh basil leaves. Add 2 pounds hamburger and 1 pound ground sausage into a large mixing bowl. Combine with hands and roll into 3 inch meatballs. Slow Cooker Chili. Grilled Meat & Veggie Foil Packets.
By Lisa, on May 21st, 2013 I sense a new obsession coming on…and it’s food grilled in foil packets!
What could be more perfect for outdoor cookouts, camping trips, and upcoming long holiday weekends? I just love the unique presentation and tasty goodness of this cooking technique and can’t wait to make them again and again and again this summer. Think of this dish as “deconstructed kabobs” that basically marinates in the homemade sauce until cooking time.
Once you are ready to cook simply throw them on the grill or directly into the hot coals of a campfire (or backyard fire pit) . - Sponsor Shoutout: The Fresh 20 Before you dig in though I want to make sure you know about our meal planning and cookbook sponsor, The Fresh 20.
