Impossible Lego Creations. Before I started writing this, I’ve browsed our #Lego collection for fun.
It has dozens of interesting posts, some of them even I completely forgot about. What I’ve noticed is that most of the themes repeat themselves, specially impossible triangles (I think there is no need to post any more triangles for some time now). Anyhow, I’ve collected rest of the unpublished Lego illusions, and decided to close the trend. First one is obviously most complex, but I have some doubts whether photoshop has been used. Rest of the collection should be free of digital manipulation, but fortunately I have you to judge. I Feel It On My Leg!: A Creepy LEGO Spider. This is a super-creepy spider made entirely out of LEGO by brickster extraordinaire Doctor Mobius.
As you can see, it required about two billion of those little lever pieces to make all the hair. Which, fun fact: did you know you can grow hair anywhere on your body using Rogaine? It's true, that's why my palms are hairy. *poker face* Hit the jump for several more shots, including some close-ups of its egg and troop-carrying capabilities.
LEGO Mosaics & LEGO Stained Glass. Mosaic is the art of creating patterns or pictures with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone or other materials.
It is one of the oldest forms of art, dating back several thousand years. So it was fun when Lady Gaga approached me about collaborating on her next music video. Gaga’s latest album, ARTPOP, has a lot to do with her life of being caught between both the world of art and the world of pop culture. This resonated with me since I am often creating pop culture references out of a child’s toy and presenting it as art. One of the main themes we discussed was about making art accessible. And one of the main reasons I use LEGO bricks is to make the art accessible. It was fun to have Gaga in my art studio brainstorming ideas. House Being Built Entirely Out of Legos and Wood in The UK. I will confidently wager that you've spent a fair amount of time building miniature cities with Legos at some point in your lives if you call yourself a geek.
I know I did. Not only cities, but spaceships and boats, and forts, and . . . well, you get the picture. But James May, a toy fanatic from the UK (who has his own TV show), built a real house from Legos. This two-story Lego palace, which resides in the middle of a vineyard, sports a working bathroom, and is covered inside and out with bricks pieced together by 272 Legos. Over three million bricks were used to build the Lego pad, so doing some quick math here — that's over 816 million Lego pieces! I would build little houses, which were basically a few blocks put together with a flat roof. A box really. Then I would throw a little man on the side and call it a day. LEGOs served to also just lay around the house, causing my parents to step on them and the scream in rage because I “cant take care of anything”. Nathan Sawaya chooses to build his awe-inspiring art out of the same toy building blocks that I used for sling shot ammo when I was 8, the LEGO.
