Yes Lab. RTMark: Your Real Corporation Clearinghouse. RTMark. RTMark /ˈɑrtmɑrk/ is an anti-consumerist activist collective, which subverts the "Corporate Shield" that protects American corporations.

RTMark

The name is derived from "Registered Trademark". RTMark is itself a registered corporation which brings together activists who plan projects with donors who fund them. It thus operates outside the laws governing human individuals, and benefits from the much looser laws governing corporations. [citation needed] RTMark claimed as its first prank the "Barbie Liberation Organization", in which the voiceboxes of talking Barbie and G.I. A former Maxis employee, he was fired after secretly adding code into the game SimCopter that would cause sprites of males in swimming trunks kissing each other to appear on certain dates.[1] This was not discovered until after the game had been published. The resulting media storm, which Servin says he didn't expect, inspired him to start RTMark, a bulletin board for similar actions, but whose goal was to get attention for under-reported issues.

Servin is also the author of two books of short stories,[2][3] published with FC2. References[edit] External links[edit] Presenter at Cusp Conference 2010. Jacques Servin: East Village Impostor. Igor Vamos, born April 15, 1968, is an internationally known multimedia artist, leading member of The Yes Men (using the alias Michael "Mike" Bonanno), and an associate professor of media arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.[1] He is also a co-founder of RTmark and the recipient of a 2003 Guggenheim Fellowship, granted for a project that used Global Positioning System (GPS) and other wireless technology to create a new medium with which to "view" his documentary Grounded, about an abandoned military base in Wendover, Utah.[1] In 1990, Vamos earned an undergraduate degree in Studio Art from Reed College in Portland, Oregon.

He later earned an MFA in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego. While at Reed, Vamos organized a student group called Guerrilla Theater of the Absurd. Another successful early project was the "Barbie Liberation Organization," where Vamos and his cohorts purchased three hundred Barbie and G.I. The project is allied with The Center for Land Use Interpretation (CLUI) (1) (Wendover, Utah and Culver City, California), which is dedicated to exploring the human-land dialectic through multidisciplinary research involving both artists and scientists. This research gives rise to thematic exhibits, guided tours and lectures focusing on sites which, owing to their lack of tourist attractions, have often suffered neglect. The Center's residence program, initiated by Igor Vamos, allows artists and scientists to explore Wendover's physical and historical features in an innovative way. Situated in the flats separating the mountains of Nevada and Utah, the Wendover region is known in particular for its Great Salt Lake and ageless desert expanses.
