There are many different sites on the internet that allow you to create your own puzzles and games to use either directly in class, or which can be linked to/embedded into your VLE. I’ve been doing some trawling ahead of a training session I am running soon, and here are a few of the best ones that I’ve found. There are others out there, but the focus specifically for my session was KS4 and 5, so these links are aimed at older students.

Extensive reading
Extensive reading (or free reading, book flood, reading for pleasure), is a way of language learning, including foreign language learning, through large amounts of reading. As well as facilitating acquisition and learning of vocabulary, it is believed to increase motivation through positive affective benefits. Proponents such as Krashen (1989) claim that reading alone will increase encounters with unknown words, bringing learning opportunities by inferencing.

Tongue Twisters: It can help with your pronunciation
A tongue twister is a specific sequence of words whose rapid, repeated pronunciation is difficult even for native speakers. Often these are similar words which follow one another but differ in certain syllables. Alliterations are also frequent. In addition, some tongues are difficult because of their unusual word composition (sentence structure) and therefore require a high level of concentration. Some Tongue twisters are made for amusement, but on the other hand, professional speakers such as actors, politicians, and television / radio hosts use them as articulation exercises.
Learn a Language Like Mezzofanti the Hyperpolyglot
Mezzofanti, or Giuseppe Caspar Mezzofanti, was an old Italian Cardinal and famed polyglot who spoke around 38 languages with fluency. He was born in 1774 and died in 1849. He had no access to any of the technology we have today, and still managed to learn more languages than *99.9% of people ever have in history. He never even left Italy either.
