Positively Healthy
Pizza. No matter where I go, no matter who I talk to, when it comes to healthy living people always seem to ask about pizza. Usually, pizza is not a bad thing – as long as you are aware of how often you eat it, how much you eat, and what you put on it… so yea, there’s still room for a slice from your favorite pizza joint once in awhile.
Silk-Dyed Eggs {aka TIE-Dyed!}
I posted this tutorial a few years ago and it has become somewhat of a tradition to bring it back every year! One of our family Easter traditions is dying eggs with pieces of silk. I saw a cute lady show Martha how to do it a few years ago and I ran upstairs right then to steal a tie! It’s way cooler than those cups of neon liquid that end up all over your clothes, your furniture and your hands plus it gives you an excuse to rid a man’s closet of ugly ties.
Spinach Pesto Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Earlier on in the week, when I made the spinach, or spanakopita pesto pasta I made sure to keep some of the pesto left over for something new. I had come across the idea of using a pesto in a grilled cheese sandwich and it was the perfect time to try one. I have been experimenting with grilled cheese sandwiches for a while now. It all started when I first tried adding some jam to one then I moved on to chutneys and now it was time to try a pesto grilled cheese sandwich.
Sichuan Wontons, plus 20 Recipe Ideas for Chinese New Year
If you've never had Sichuan wontons before, and you're a big fan of spicy food, this is one dish that will surely go on regular rotation after you try it once. This is one of my favorite Sichuan dishes of all time, with a deliciously savory, tangy, and spicy sauce that is positively addictive. Unlike with Cantonese wontons, which usually goes into a soup with or without noodles, you just boil the wontons and drizzle a chili oil mixture over them. I adore this sauce: chili oil (store-bought or homemade), dark or balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, Sichuan pepper, and garlic, just mixed together.
Birthday Cake Jello Shots
About a month ago, my Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shot Glasses were featured on reddit.com, spiking the number of visits to my blog that day, and also gaining some very interesting comments. This one particularly stood out: “I love how this blog is mostly gorgeous baked goods – but every now and then she makes variations of shots – I’m picturing a young Martha Stewart who is periodically DRUNK OUT OF HER SKULL with fruit on her face”. I’m here today to tell you that my skull is fully intact and while I do enjoy the indulgence of alcohol every now and then, I at least have the decency to clean my face :) But seriously, I do like to have fun incorporating alcohol into my desserts for special occasions with friends, especially for a birthday party! This time around it was my friend Alyssa’s 24th and I didn’t want to let her down after last year’s Caramel Frappacino Cupcakes… Print Recipe

Make your own jellyfish in a bottle. « BhoomPlay
The other day, while I was thinking to get something to put in the water bottle for Bhoom to shake for fun. I saw a plastic grocery bag next to me and then this idea popped up. I think.. well, give it a try. With some trials and errors, my little jellyfish comes alive just like I thought it would be. : ) When daddy and son first saw it, they’re surprised with their jaws wide open.
Perfect Mac-n-Cheese « My Cooking Quest
November 13, 2008 by joejhorn A few weeks ago I started a quest for some good mac and cheese. Nancy makes a killer mac-n-cheese but I wanted my own. I’m sure I frustrate the crap out of Nancy sometimes because I’m always looking for something better when it comes to food and recipes.

Red Velvet Brownies - freutcake
This weekend I temporarily lost my baking mojo. I burnt a batch of caramel, ruined shortbread and my pizza dough was a disaster. What was happening? Why did my favorite past time turn on me?
