Hot Right Now: The Waterfall Braid

Homemade Sea Salt Spray Recipes for Hair Blake Lively. Kate Hudson. Megan Fox. Jennifer Aniston. These women are just some of the celebrities out there who sport the tousled, beach hair look. Not only does it scream sexy, but it's a much sought-after hairstyle that even hairstylists can't get enough of when sending models down the runway. The trick behind creating beach waves is the mixing of sea salt with hair, causing it to look disheveled yet incredibly stylish. DIY Sea Salt Spray Recipe What You'll Need: You'll need 8 fluid oz of water to prepare this mixture. You'll need two teaspoons of coconut oil - it must be unscented and preferably organic (pure). Using coarse salt (2 teaspoons) as opposed to powdered, ensures that a controlled amount of this is sprayed onto one's tresses. Hair gel provides great hold - you'll need a teaspoon of strong-hold gel that doesn't harden upon application but remains stiff yet smooth (like Bain de Terre Firm Action Flax Seed Styling Gel or Eco Styler Olive Oil Styling Gel) post use.

...love Maegan: Pretty Side French Braid low Updo Hair Tutorial I wore a more relaxed version of this hair style in an outfit post in June of 2009 but for reasons unbeknownst to me, I never did a tutorial for it. Recently though, a few of my lovely readers have asked for it …so here it is. Enjoy! If you can’t see the video go to: Pretty Side French Braid Updo * * * it would be so pretty with flowers pinned in * * * * . . . wearing the braid out . . . . . . and a few days ago, I wore it more casually, with straight hair . . . My bro took these last four the other day …the ones above these four, I took …from the reflection in the mirror, which didn’t turn out as fantastic, for obvious reasons. Have Fun! Skin Deco Land Girl Bandana Tutorial - or How To Cover Your Curlers - Alternatively Lovely - Rockalily Since writing this blog post, I have also made a video tutorial showing how to tie a bandana land girl style. This morning I posted a link to the Rockalily Facebook Page to show a photo of me (rather sleepily) wearing Rockalily Lipstick about to head out. Someone mentioned that they'd love to be able to wear a scarf in this style, so I said I would do a tutorial for them when I got home. I would describe the style as Land Girl inspired, vintage-esque and also Rockabilly I guess. Today I wore it this way as I have curlers in, but I also wear it in the more standard way too. So here is my attempt at a tutorial. Start with your bandana folded about three-quarters of the way in half. The folded side of the bandana is going to go along your neck, so the pointy bit comes over your forehead. You can see I still have my curlers in! Bring both of the ends together, making sure that middle point is underneath. Ta Dah! If you find it useful, please let me know! You can buy a bandana from me!

How To Style Maiden Braids Last month I did a makeover story with Kelsie and had many requests for a maiden braid tutorial. Yesterday she came in and we photographed these simple step by steps. Kelsie has extremely long and thick hair, but anyone with shoulder length or longer can do these braids (see my photo below for an example). Steps 1-2: Braid two strands on each side of a center part. Steps 3-5: Wrap braids around the crown of your head and pin in place with one pin each. Step 6: Arrange braids so that they cover the front of your head like a headband. Steps 7-8: Pull the rest of the hair into a ponytail and pin it into a cute messy bun. Step 9: Add final pins and spray.

Coloring hair with Kool aid - The coolest Kool aid hair dye recipe Coloring hair with Kool aid is cheap and fun. Kids have an absolute blast with it and so do adults (although they might not admit to it :)). My daughter, who is almost 10, has been insisting on dyeing her hair for a while now.
