So way way back, in June, I wrote this Studio Organization post, about starting the process of organizing my studio by cleaning out the closet full of junk. Well, it's September and...let's just say the closet is a work in progress. Some of the things that are taking up space in the closet are shirts that I never wear anymore. I realized I could repurpose them into something else! Here are some tutorials for recycling shirts:

Here’s yet another way to spice up your t-shirts when you get a little bored with the plainness of them all. I did this a few weeks ago to two of my plain tees. I’m threatening to do this on all of the t-shirts I own. Seriously. Watch out! This little ruching technique takes literally 2 minutes; the perfect way to jazz up an outfit on your way out the door.

Perfect Summer Bangle
Here's a fun tutorial on how to make a message bangle that's one-of-a-kind, done in the sun, waterproof and weatherproof. Even after several trips to the beach, it won't fade or wash off! Essentially, it's the Perfect Summer Bangle. Used in this tutorial: Inkodye Red Prepare. All you'll need for this project is a raw wooden bangle (we got ours from DIYBangles.com), a black paint marker, plastic wrap, and some Inkodye!

Yet another Kitty dress tutorial! You know if I was able to do it, then it is super easy! Only 3 stitches needed, and minimal measuring! If you can sew a pillow- you can sew this :) First I found this fabric at Goodwill. I originally bought it for the my table cover at the farmers market, but now that the summer is ending...what better idea than to make a fun floral summer dress!

What you'll need is: 2 (two) 1/2 yard pieces of jersey knit + 1” strip of the under-layer piece long enough to go around the perimeter of the finished pillow coverfreezer papercraft paintspongeironsafety pinsneedle & buttonhole threadscissors For a 16” pillow cover, I start with an 18” square. This gives you some wiggle room with pattern placement, especially if you’re like me and end up cutting the square wonky and don’t quite manage to get the stencil in the middle of the square. It is best to go bigger, then trim afterward.

The whole truth is that I have these really large calves and no boots in the world boots do not fit me. It's a terrible cross to bear. So, in comes getting creative. I found these rain boots at Walmart for ~$25, the grommets came from Hobby Lobby (buy more than you think you will need) and I had the ribbon.
