Monday, October 18, 2010 If you recently started reading my blog you might think that I just post soup recipes. That is not true. But it is fall and I am a soup lover so I have been making lots of soups, but they are all delicious and I love to share them with you.
Peanut Butter Pie
I made this pie today as a tribute to a fellow food blogger. One whom I've never met, but who's blog, In Jennie's Kitchen, I've been reading for longer than I've had my own. Tragically, her husband passed away this past Sunday...suddenly, of a heart attack. The food blog community immediately took to the internet, reaching out, wanting to know what they could do to help her. Amazingly, she posted to her blog this week, to talk about her husband and to ask her readers to make this pie today.

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread — Joy the Baker - StumbleUpon
I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. I know that now you’re craving cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese frosting and chili fries and hot dogs. I am too… and I already ate half of this warm bread.
A Naughty Name? Maybe.
It is unknown what the true origins of Pasta Puttanesca are. Some believe it was named for a dish that the ladies of the night in Naples placed in their windows to lure customers. Puttana is the Italian equivalent of whore. Others believe that it was invented when a restaurant owner was asked by really hungry customers to please make them something.
Death By Oreo Cupcakes
They are probably the best Oreo cakes I have ever tried. A lot of cake's that I have experimented with before are like a vanilla cake with bits of Oreo in them, which didn't really give them enough Oreo flavor. But these were a lot better. I used a dark chocolate fudge cake mix instead of just a regular chocolate cake mix, which went really well with the cookies and gave the cakes just a little more flavor. So, in this recipe there is Oreo's in the cake, in the frosting, and at the bottom is a Oreo surprise.
san francisco garlic fries
Well folks, not much going on this week. I’m still 800 million degrees, which I guess is normal if you’re a human incubator. I’ve become a stretchy, elastic waisted pants spokesperson, because ohmygah maternity jeans are the most incredible thing I have ever worn, excepting for the sweat pants I model almost daily.

GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND BAKE!: PASTRY
Last night, I decided to make one of my favorite cookies. These little pastry swirls are so delish! I usually use my favorite pie crust recipe, which I have previously posted, but I decided to try a pastry recipe by the Barefoot Contessa. This recipe calls for lots of butter! I used my 14-cup Cuisinart Food Processor (love it) to make the pastry dough. It's so easy in a food processor, so if you haven't invested in one, do so very soon!
