Being able to pre-visualize how your story will unfold is becoming a vital skill to have for storytellers. Storyboards are defined as: Graphic organizers such as a series of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence, including website interactivity.
HEAT The Jisc TechDis HEAT Scheme funded over 80 projects designed to uncover or develop an aspect of accessible or inclusive practice. Staff involved in delivering Higher Education were invited to bid for items of technology to run small projects up to one year in duration, using them innovatively to develop or uncover an aspect of inclusive practice in their everyday activities - not all were involved in teaching- sometimes explicitly to benefit students or staff with particular impairments, sometimes implicitly in developing a use of technology which is by nature more inclusive than the previous, often non-technological method. The advantage of small scale funding is that it can be highly targeted and the administration and auditing burden is much lower than in large projects. Success comes quickly.
RDFa Distiller and Parser This distiller corresponds to the RDFa 1.0 specification. In 2012, W3C has published an updated version of that specification, called RDFa Core 1.1. A new distiller, processing RDFa 1.1 content, has been implemented which suprecedes this one. Note that the new distiller can also process RDFa 1.0 content (there are some minor incompatibilities) if the XHTML+RDFa file uses the right (RDFa 1.0) DTD and/or the @version attribute.

High-resolution 3D Models of Cities Created from Aerial Photographs If you thought Google Earth was cool, check out the work being done by Swedish corp C3 Technologies. Using only photos shot from planes, they can automatically create high-resolution 3D models of entire cities that can then be explored. The above video shows a beautiful fly-by of New York City. All of the C3 products are based on high-resolution photography captured with carefully calibrated cameras. For every picture, the positions and angles of the cameras are calculated with extremely high precision, using an advanced navigation system.
