Man-Computer Symbiosis Man-Computer Symbiosis J. C. R. Licklider IRE Transactions on Human Factors in Electronics, volume HFE-1, pages 4-11, March 1960 Summary the European Organization for Nuclear Research 6 March 2013 A question of spin for the new boson Physicists speaking today at the Moriond conference in La Thuile, Italy, have announced that the new particle discovered at CERN last year is looking more and more like a Higgs boson. However, more analysis is still required before a definitive statement can be made. The key to a positive identification of the particle is a detailed analysis of its properties and the way that it interacts with other particles. Since the announcement last July, much more data has been analysed, and these properties are becoming clearer.

22 Unbelievable Places that are Hard to Believe Really Exist Our world is so full of wonders that new and amazing places are discovered every day, be that by professional photographers or amateurs. JCS Online Resources The acclaimed Churchill Archive is now free for the first time to schools worldwide thanks to a $1 million donation from philanthropist Laurence Geller CBE. "All children should understand Sir Winston Churchill’s fundamental place in our nation’s history,” says the Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities, "and schools can now seize the opportunity to access the Churchill Archive – a tremendous cache of documents that bring history to life.” Opening up exciting new opportunities for the teaching and learning of History at secondary level, the Churchill Archive - described by History Today as "the real gem of online Churchill resources" - offers cross-searchable online access to over 800,000 original documents. Highlights include:

- History The beginning Way back in 1995, Graham Nelson had recently released Inform, a language for creating parser-based interactive fiction – games in the mode of Infocom’s classic text adventures from the 1980s. The idea appealed to plenty of people, but they faced a problem: they lacked the large pool of example code to learn from that users of other languages had. Enter Kevin Wilson, then an undergraduate at Berkeley. CERN Follow LHC physicists @CERN, as they share their thoughts about the new physics frontiers opening up when the LHC begins collisions at the higher energy of #13TeV. Each week a new video will be uploaded to allowing you to follow physicists @ATLASexperiment @ALICEexperiment @CMSexperiment or @LHCbExperiment. Videogames for Humans edited bymerritt kopas Behind the fluorescent veil of modern big-business video games, a quiet revolution is happening, and it’s centered on a tool called Twine. Taken up by nontraditional game authors to describe distinctly nontraditional subjects—from struggles with depression, explorations of queer identity, and analyses of the world of modern sex and dating to visions of breeding crustacean horses in a dystopian future—the Twine movement to date has created space for those who have previously been voiceless within games culture to tell their own stories, as well as to invent new visions outside of traditional channels of commerce. Videogames for Humans, curated and introduced by Twine author and games theorist merritt kopas, puts Twine authors, literary writers, and games critics into conversation with one another’s work, reacting to, elaborating on, and being affected by the same.

The HTTP Protocol As Implemented In W3 This document defines the Hypertext Transfer protocol (HTTP) as currently implemented by the WorldWideWeb initaitive software. This is a subset of the proposed full HTTP protocol. No client profile information is transferred with the query. Future HTTP protocols will be back-compatible with this protocol. The definition of this protocol is in the public domain (see policy ). The protocol uses the normal internet-style telnet protocol style on a TCP-IP link.
