Internet History Sourcebooks Update Information 2006: In 2006 the Internet Medieval Sourcebooks and associated sourcebooks are undergoing a major overhaul to remove bad links and add more documents. 1. A Crisis of the Middle Ages? Deconstructing and Constructing European Identities in a Globalised World A Crisis of the Middle Ages? Deconstructing and Constructing European Identities in a Globalised World By Michael Borgolte Darwin's Reading Reading was a fundamental tool in Darwin’s scientific practice. He read widely in the scientific literature of natural history, he also copiously annotated many books and articles and he systematically abstracted many of his annotations. Since a big part of his strategy for supporting the theory of evolution relied on his ability to translate the biological problems of his day into evolutionary terms, the documentary record of his Darwin’s reading cuts across the topical structure of the Darwin archive. Charles Darwin’s Library Annotated books are principally at Cambridge University Library and the remainder are displayed at Down House.

Brewing beer with Python and a Raspberry Pi I started brewing my own beer more than 10 years ago. Like most homebrewers, I started in my kitchen making extract-based brews. This required the least equipment and still resulted in really tasty beer. Eventually I stepped up to all-grain brewing using a big cooler for my mash tun. Tourists Reveal The One Place They'd NEVER Visit Again Most travellers will be eager to tell you about places that they enjoyed visiting, and would like to return to. However, there are always some places that people never want to return to, whatever the reason. An online forum took it on themselves to post the question of where people said they would NEVER return, and some of the results were surprising.

Harvard - Public Domain & Creative Commons Content - Finding Public Domain & Creative Commons Images When you are adding images, videos and other content that you did not create to your presentation, it is important to make sure that you are not violating anyone's copyright. One way to do so is to find public domain images for your presentations. Copyright.gov explains the public domain as follows: "A work of authorship is in the “public domain” if it is no longer under copyright protection or if it failed to meet the requirements for copyright protection. Uncovering the brutal truth about the British empire Help us sue the British government for torture. That was the request Caroline Elkins, a Harvard historian, received in 2008. The idea was both legally improbable and professionally risky. Improbable because the case, then being assembled by human rights lawyers in London, would attempt to hold Britain accountable for atrocities perpetrated 50 years earlier, in pre-independence Kenya. Risky because investigating those misdeeds had already earned Elkins heaps of abuse.

K40 Whisperer– K40 (Cheap Chinese Laser) Control Software After months of reverse engineering I am happy to announce that the initial version of K40 Whisperer is available for download under the GPL License. K40 Whisperer is software written to interpret SVG and DXF data and in turn communicate the design information to the K40 Laser Cutter (using the stock M2 Nano Controller board).
