Una serie di libri presi a caso e fatti esaminare da un esperto ha dato il seguente risultato: in caratteri Simoncini Garamond sono i libri Bompiani, Sellerio, BUR Biblioteca Universale Rizzoli, Feltrinelli, Salani, Longanesi, Guanda, Saggiatore, Nottetempo e Iperborea. Il carattere dei libri Einaudi, invece, si chiama Einaudi Garamond, perché fu commissionato da Giulio Einaudi nel 1956 a Francesco Simoncini, ma in realtà è un Simoncini Garamond con inconsueti e vezzosi accenti acuti su í e ú, anche se normalmente sono gravi.
