Jason Gesser is an American college football former coach, former player, and former Assistant Athletic Director for major gifts at Washington State University. He was previously the interim head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and recruiting coordinator for the Idaho Vandals of the WAC.

Editor, Throughout the last 20 years of my life, I have unwaveringly supported Washington State University as a WSU student-athlete, proud alumnus and now employee of the athletic department.
So, I was very disheartened to read the story published in the Evergreen stemming from rumors and unfounded accusations regarding my professional conduct. While I am grateful that our institution fully investigates accusations of impropriety, I am disappointed that the unfounded complaints submitted to the Office for Equal Opportunity and the Office of Internal Audits have been made public, needlessly affecting individuals who don’t deserve public scrutiny and criticism. The only thing I care about more deeply than WSU is my family and integrity. I want to clearly state that the allegations are not true. Over a decade before Mariota ever stepped foot on Oregon’s campus, a quarterback by the name of Jason Gesser was lighting the Pac-12 on fire. Gesser, who led St.Louis High School to multiple state championships in the late 90’s, was a star on The Palouse. Gesser took over as the starting quarterback at Washington State, and with him the Cougars found success.
In 2001 and 2002 Jason Gesser led the Cougars to back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time in program history, culminating in a trip to the 2003 Rose Bowl. Mike Price led the Cougars to five bowl games, two Rose Bowls, and three 10-win seasons during his 14 year career as head football coach at Washington State.
And this fall, the University is going to induct the two time Pac-10 coach of the year into their athletic Hall of Fame. Price headlines a group of seven members that will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during half time of the Washington State vs. Idaho football game on September 17th. He'll be joined by a man who played quarterback for him during four of his most successful years at the helm. Jason Gesser set 15 WSU records by the time he graduated in 2002. Joining these two football all stars will be five more Cougar all stars from all backgrounds. In 120 years of Washington State football, the Cougars have never had more success than they did in the late 90s and early 2000s, when quarterback Jason Gesser and head football coach Mike Price combined their considerable talents to usher in the Golden Era of Cougar football and become the most successful quarterback and coach tandem in school history Gesser and Price won 24 games together and led the program to back-to-back 10-win seasons, a Sun Bowl win and a Rose Bowl appearance. After outlasting then No. 1 Duke in the Maui Invitational title game and dismantling North Dakota State on Monday, the Zags are No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 poll. Portland Trail Blazers insider and Gonzaga alum Jamie Hudson sounded off on the Zags early-season success, including their recent win over the Blue Devils. "If you would’ve told me 10 years ago that the Zags would beat Duke (ranked Number 1 at the time) outside of the NCAA tournament, when the Blue Devils had a potential number one draft pick, I probably wouldn’t have believed you," Hudson said.
"The crazy thing for Gonzaga is that they are without one of their best players, forward Killian Tillie. The Zags are 7-0 despite losing the Gonzaga big man for two months.
