Once Upon A Picture. Once Upon A Picture has been one of my go-to websites for the past few months.
Although originally designed to work on L1 literacy with children, there’s a good amount of material that will work with both teenagers and adults in EFL contexts, too. Apart from the large collection of pictures on the homepage, “The Collections” tab includes a classification based on specific skills or areas: fiction, non-fiction, inference, thinking, prediction, or character. But what I really love about this site is that, no matter the picture you choose, you will always find a set of carefully selected questions, with a mix ranging from the most literal and factual, to others that involve inference, deduction, comparison, opinion, critical thinking or creativity!
Definitely a perfect model of question writing in itself. Coronavirus: Vaccine Distribution Running Into Problems – Level 3 – Learn Wit... Level 1 | Level 2| Level 3 | Answers Vaccine distribution in the fight against COVID-19 has been running into roadblocks in multiple countries.
At the end of 2020, a variety of vaccines were approved for use and countries began plans to distribute them to people. The UK was the first western country to approve and begin vaccinating people. For our students though, this is a concept they need to learn. Students can use Google to quickly find millions of websites matching their search request, but are they able to determine which sites actually contain information that is accurate, unbiased, up to date, and written by someone with authority?

Over the years I have read my four children many, many books, most often at bedtime, and with as many funny voices for the characters as I could provide. As much as I enjoyed the time for family bonding and for helping the kids settle down for the night, research has shown that having stories read to children has many educational benefits as well.
Reading stories out loud to children: Provides them with a model of fluent reading.Allows them to consume content above their reading level (since they can listen at a higher level than they can read).Shows them the connection between the written word and its meaning.Teaches them the narrative structure of a story or book.Helps develop a love of stories, books, and reading that can carry on into the rest of their lives. Although there is no substitute for reading in person to a child, there are still many benefits from using technology to show videos of people reading stories.

Although I know I like using music in my teaching, I never thought there would be so much of it on this blog when I started it over a year ago. Songs are fun, authentic sources with multiple possibilities in the classroom, but the main reason for having published 14 lesson plans and activities based on songs here is to a large extent due to copyright issues: while lyrics and songs are easily available for everyone online, access to other types of authentic texts is more limited because of copyright constraints.
I also think the key to a successful song-based lesson is to deal with the text as you would with any other type of short text, whether written or oral, to practise a variety of comprehension skills, work on specific grammar and vocabulary, or introduce a topic for discussion. Choosing a song that meets the students’ needs is not always easy, though. Missing Word Cloze - Online Exercises - English Grammar and Vocabulary. Our Collection. Encyclopedia Britannica.
